I planned on playing this game for a long time to come and was fine with switching to payments after the game was up to par. The game doesn't have enough content to keep me involved full time, I play another mmo at the moment to fill the gaps. I'm not going to take on another fee and pay upwards of 30 a month to stay active in XIV, I'll stick with another game that's already flowing with content and meaning.

-They were creating a Brand new game Behind the scenes ( in which cost ALOT of money)

Whats more important is here and now, FFXIV was slow with the updates/changes to the game because they had a budget in which they were getting Zero income from . Now, When they are asking for a little support 12 bucks a months when YOU been playing for a year for FREE, and they ask for 8 months of money to make a game that Fits the Final Fantasy name?

I'll break it down for you. The ONLY reason they rebuilt this game is to build a cash cow. Allowing XIV to be free to play for now is only to cement this fact. This notion that 200+ men are working overtime in some cramped office in Japan to make you happy is just insanely silly.

The community could of easily snubbed the abortion they dumped on the playerbase last year and told SE to stuff it, but alot of them didn't. The community went out of their way to continue to support amid sand blasting from every major reviewer and the majority of the gaming world.

Well I did say 2.0 looks nice, but until then I can't see any reason to throw money at them. I refuse to hold their head above water after betraying most of the community last year.

Hand me a quality product and I'll gladly hand you my money. The industry already has too much to offer to settle for second best.

None forced you to play, if you played all this time then I am sure you enjoyed it too or you simply hate yourself and are punushing yourself by playing a game that you hate so much.

That's Your Opinion and I respect that, But I feel that, SE for a Full year went out of their way to keep the servers open ( Which cost money, with no income) to slowly give updates to the Old Eorzea as they worked full force on a new Eorzea. To me at least they show alot of pride in their FF title name, they could easily Scraped the game and not let anyone play and just focus on Ver 2.0.

However, they didn't do that and let us play without charge to make this game better. Yes they did this to get feedback blah blah, but somehow I believe they implemented something of there own with a little feedback twist to make the players happy.

In anyrate, its not like they were making money of Eorzea in the first place, so why not make money for those that are willing to stay through the process and the other people can wait it out a year to try out there new game.
