new Grand company rankings ?

ok so my main question for the devs right now is when can we expect to see the new ranking opening up in the grand company's it would give us more stuff to do in our down time between patches why hasn't this been brought out yet i mean i thought this was going to be one of those things that they were bringing in to heavenward i mean if im wrong please by all means correct me im just asking my questions since i had not seen any posts about this in a good wile

They want to do something more with ranks other than "Kill some stuff and pay us seals", iirc they're working on a platoon system where you can train a platoon of soldiers and possibly go on dungeons with them and whatnot. i kinda want them to do a companion system like the chochobos tying it to something like a platoon would just be silly but that's just my opinion i think they should tie a system like that to the "dating system" i have been hearing rumors about sin yoshi p said some thing about it awile back

The only time they mentioned a dating system was as a April Fools. I don't think they are actually going to do anything like that.

As for GC, it will probably be the next time we actually do anything involving the GC. At the moment we are tied up in Ishgard mostly so we aren't greatly involved in our role as a GC officer. My guess is the next time we see new ranks will be next expansion, and they will have a 'raise a unit' to go on missions for the grand company as part of the story.

Oh god. Could be fun, could be a disaster. But more than anything, I'd want to see this:
"You've just lost an entire platoon in Sastasha"

Ranks do nothing you just want ranks because you dont have new ranks. The only use GCs have is for messing up PvP.

It's bugging me that it's taking them so long to add new ranks. I don't care if it's just "turn in seals for new stuff" because that's fine by me. It makes no sense that they refuse to promote us considering all we have done for them. I want to smack my superior officer.

Funny story on the patch notes post some of the new items said they would need a grand company rank that we do not have.

Well, we will have it once they allow us to be promoted past second lieutenant. This does sound better than my fears which have so far been proven unfounded (I was assuming we'd need Frontlines participation, thank god that wasn't true).
