Astro needs a Nerf in PVP

The shield isn't actually "important" aside from being potency - it's an instant cast 603 potency heal, which is 603 more than SCH or WHM have on demand.

It isn't the shield at all, it's all the freecasting AST gets to do under pressure. All 3 healers can be crushed by good burst and stuns, but AST gets to thrive through all the pressure afterwards. The other healers require a lot more party help to survive. Straigus' idea would level that out somewhat.

AST so far has been very new-healer-accessible while still being insane in the hands of good healers (like Straigus there). I'd say the other healers could use a push in that direction before we make AST 100% interrupted by coughs like them.

Astro is literally not fun to play against in Wolves Den, and will be worse in 60.

This is why I don't participate in Friday Night Fights.

It's essentially a race of who can stun+lb the AST first, which is rather monotonous and not fun (to me).

Pardon my bluntness but what am I supposed to be looking at this for?

If others enjoy the current state of WD, then that's fine. I just don't personally care for it.

I'm assuming you only had a few runs that required lb to kill the healer. Maybe 1 out of 15matches (if that) results in the game even lasting long enough to see LB. Anymore then that and I'm more concerned with the dps/tank you are getting paired up with.

You can say "oh well your dps suck" but that's not the case. What if the AST is as good as your good dps? He just Attunes, big heals, continues to sprint and shield, half your burst is mitigated by a GCD. You have to stun LOCK the AST, and can't force purify until you stun, AND break their shield.

It's not fun. There's no counterplay to the job. There was no counterplay to SMN raise and they got rid of that. It has to be nerfed if they want to see success, end of story.

Except it does not only ever happen with an AST. Matches going all the way to LB have and are happening time and again with White Mage/Scholar. LB matches are not new. The only difference now is that people play AST because it is quite literally /faceroll compared to WHM/SCH. Yes, AST is ahead of WHM/SCH in the department of freecasting, which is why i made my earlier proposal. Taking away freecasting power from AST would take them out of the game, no reason to bring them.

You must get paired with god awful ASTs.

Guilty as charged. I think I've played 2 WD matches. My first one was with Panzer Tone (and Atreus, I think?).

It was alright, I just would prefer a more objective-driven form of pvp.
