Exchange ESOS (or Law) For allowances

Well I know Law is almost useless at this point outside glamour.

And Some people do have excess esoterics.

So, why not allow us to exchange these tomes for allowances.
We only get 6 a day, and levelling crafters and gatherers can take the full 100 or more just from 50-60.

So why not?
I think it would be great.

Well not getting a lot of love for this, but I know I'm pretty much done with esos on my main.
And Law is just for glamour now.

It also looks like we're gonna be stuck with esos and law for awhile.

We get so few allowances. I would gladly trade in some of the tomes.
I think it wasn't so bad b4 HW, but now its just not enough.

I think this way would be very fair, and keep tomes relevant.
of course the other option is to raise the allowance allotment.
I doubt they would do that.

Math is fun so.
Say you need 200 allowances for one crafter to 60.
200/6 33.3


so that 33 days of allowances for a single crafter to 60.
x8 Each crafting

total of 266.6 days that's for crafting
now for 3 gathering at 33.3 is 99.9

so round up and add them up.
366.5 days of allowances.
That's over one year to get all your crafting gathering up.

And these tomes are sitting there doing nothing.

We already know that the tomes are cyclical. so The esos will become second best, and a new tome will be the best.
Then esos will be useless. And we should be able to trade in the second best tomes for allowances. Even if they won't let us trade in the best ones.

Ok Ok I know there are other ways to level them up besides allowances.
Horrible horrible ways of grinding the items over n over lmao

But with mat prices the way they are (at least on my server) this s not cost efficient.
And not to mention ALOT of people don't have the money to buy all the mats. You could farm some of them, but not all if your levelling.

Idk... while being able to exchange Law for something useful would be nice; there are plenty of people who got all DoH/DoL classes to 60. Or at least half way there. I think the balance is right, at least to the developers eyes when it comes to leveling these classes. I wouldn't expect any changes until new classes are added, maybe such as a aetherflow gatherer or something, a class that gathers mats that have aetheric properties.

But you shouldn't really need to use Leve's on a craft 56+ if A) you're happy to do collectibles since its kinda a Free Leve in a way with free exp, or B) if you do blue strips and get the craft exp scroll, takes a few hours but you'll gain momentous exp from crafting and doesn't take long to get from 56-60. Gathering on the other hand, really need a good way to exp <50 since leve's are harder and some leve's are worthless on Gathering class (aka the non-evaulation Leve's)

op i have to disagree with you. i use law to gear my alt classes till i can get bis gear. just sayin

While having more allowances wouldn't be a bad thing I don't think getting them with Law or Eso's would be the way to go; Blue or Red Scrips would work better I think. Tomestones are Battle-related and have nothing in common with crafting and gathering. They've still got plenty of use though:

- Law is a great way to level Desynthesis from 170 to 180 and can now purchase two star crafting mats (Purified Coke.)
- Esoterics or Law will most likely be used for the next Relic weapon in 3.15.

Just sayin OP I disagree with you. For one I use my law also to gear my alt classes. For two it's easy enough to level crafting jobs without leves. I got my alt character leveling crafts without using leves and same with gathering classes. Have you tried the daily GC trade in they give lots of exp as well as the ixal daily quests to.

I think its a good idea OP. I'm not really using my law/eso for anything, and there isn't a way to gain more allowances other than to wait in this game. I am coming from an Achievement grinders point of view though, waiting on the Leve reset makes some of the Leve achievements pretty impossible to get (mainly the ones that require 5000 leves to complete).

Now, that achievement was created in a time where we had 8 battle/gathering leves and 8 crafting leves every 36 hours (not building up over time) and where leves was the main content.

Ok so some disagree because, they use it for alts. But you have to consider, not everyone is interested in building up every battle class. But I can, understand where your coming from.

I do understand Law has some uses to certain people.
And perhaps, the majority of people do not even craft.
But also you can take into consideration, that allowances can be used to get certain drops.

Like Dodore wings or Ureaus leather. Now those items are still kind of a waste of allowances. The price has went down now because of new gears, but SE may hide more mats behind levees as well.

The other thing is that, with such a limit on allowances, its not very "new player" friendly.

Most of the players who do have all 60's across the board have no problem grinding it out like a madman to get there, but there are a lot of people who just don't.
It's also just too expensive for most players.
