I think these would be really lovely redone in XIV ^^
Magna (Swimmers)
Opo-Opo Crown
Dancer (AF3 I think)
There is a pretty top with Gold chains along the bottom of it too but I just can't remember its name ><

I'd like some of the custom rse...i'd like it even better if it wasn't race restricted.
Most of the Aht Urghan gear was pretty rad. Would like to see more of it in this game.
The Zodiac subligars...

One major thing ffxi knew how to do, it was subligars, and jerkins.
As much as they are all uniform now, I kinda liked some of the changed racial designs for the same item, like the ffxi leather trousers series, if only that was more an option than forced.

I somewhat agree. Especially since many were simply reskinned designs.
Apart from some selective gear sets, the only ones I truly care to see return are various artifact, relic, and empyrean sets. Especially the ones that have different aesthetics than the XIV counterparts (WHM, SMN, BLM, SCH's empyrean, etc.)
They might not be as nearly as polished and detailed as the newer counterparts, but I think a lot of players would appreciate them for the nostalgia factor; especially if they received good model retouching.
The Igqira set was always a favorite, but I didn't play a BLM so I never got the chance to wear it :[
Also, the BLU AF. One of the best in the game.

Completely agree! If they revamped some of the old pieces for XIV, they could be quite lovely.I think you have to use a little imagination to see the charm of the old gear; it's all designed for a 2002 PS2 game so there were massive restrictions on what they could do with the models (which they really pushed with some of the later pieces). There were no real moving parts, no flowing robes or dresses and only a limited number of unique features that weren't part of the flat textures. If the old designs were brought up to XIV's standards then I do think that some of the old pieces would look phenomenal. Especially as all of those old tunics, a relic of those PS2 restrictions, wouldn't clip through my mount horrifyingly like a lot of XIV's robes do.
And to add to this thread, I always loved this top:
(not my mithra, I was creeping one day in town)
