Please save the small servers!!! (goblin)

What are you trying to queue up for in DF? Because I'm also from Goblin and I have zero issues. I see plenty of people running around, but yes, I will admit, PF is a bit empty. But that's simply because most already have groups they flock with. Duty finder on the other hand isn't exclusive to our server. The only reason a DF should be empty is if you are running content that no one in the game really like's to run anymore as it doesn't provide anything that people really want anymore.

But posts like these do nothing to help us. In fact, it makes people LESS likely to want to join Goblin. It's not actually dead. But every time you say it is, people are more likely to avoid it because, who wants to join a dead server? Yes, it's lower population. For me, that's great. It means my market prices sell higher (not as frequently though, but the difference in price usually makes up for that). Look at the upsides to our server instead of the down. I've known multiple people to recently transfer over to Goblin because of word of mouth in my FC.

If a player wants to join a server because of its population, then they'd make sure to ask around for the most populated servers. No one would (again, specifically looking for server population) join your server unless someone lies and says your server has high population, even if there wasn't any thread on forums about your low pop server. Just saying. I personally joined a high populated server to join a friend because he said it was one of the highest populated in Primal data (Hyperion) and it was true, people everywhere, PF filled with lots of stuff, active boards, active fates farming and queues weren't so bad, except for PvP as always. If otherwise I wouldn't have asked for the high pop one, I'd have joined a server with a name I liked.

I'm a Goblin player as well and I have to disagree that it needs any kind of saving. The party finder has been much more active since the patch, I always see Diadem, hunt, and Thordan groups forming during the day, I have yet to have any duty finder last more than ten minutes since 3.1 (and amazingly, dps queues have been super quick for the last month or so. Quicker than on my tank even), and I still see a lot of new players running around the streets which suggest to me we're keeping a healthy population.

Mind you, we are one of the smaller servers and there are pros and cons to that. I think your dilemma is less about Goblin and more about your name. You'll just have to decide if living on a larger server is worth giving up. If you do transfer, Goblin wishes you the best of luck out there.

Just wanted to say I saw you the other day. It wasn't your name that drew my attention to you as much as your albino look and your chest piece. That armor is awesome, grats!

Poor Goblin. I transferred off recently (right before 3.1) to Balmung. I couldn't stand not being able to find groups for stuff and having almost nobody around in towns, even during prime time. I wish they'd do something to help the smaller servers, like a cross-server PF or something.

I joined Goblin purposefully to join friends. They joined it purposefully to avoid the massive hordes of people. I know of people who transferred OUT of Balmung because it's overly crowded. Yes, it has it perks, but a smaller pop size has it's perks too. We had a small FC transfer to Goblin to join ours and all of them were quite happy with our market prices (because not as much competition, prices stay higher and still sell). We still have houses available and they are not super high priced like the high pop servers. We know a lot of people in game and recognize players all the time wherever we go. Not everyone is looking to join high pop servers honestly.
