Fatal DirectX Error 11000002

I don't really think that it's the card's performance. It happened with the latest patch and is also only happening in DX11 mode. DX9 mode, which has worse performance, doesn't crash. And it also happens only in Final Fantasy, no other games have any issues.
Must be a specific problem between the newest driver and the patch.
I hope that it'll be fixed soon, DX9 Mode has some ugly fps drops in places.

Couple of days ago, i had this error and sent a mail to Support. Followed the instructions provided: Update graphic drivers. Update Windows. Uninstall and reinstall both game and installation client. Update sound card. It worked. After 2 days of working just fine, today this error reappeared. I'll have to agree with Hurz in that this latest patch, somehow a code or something is causing this error.

R9 285 and R9 380 still have this issue(since July), can someone confirm R9 390(x) is now fixed?
Is it possible that tonga series gpus will just never work correctly in dx11 with this game? Someone made a comment that tonga has major issues with this gaming engine and unreal engine when it comes to dx11

Unfortunately though, it likely is limited to a range of configurations. I have an nvidia card in my system and don't have such issues. And I'm on a laptop---where temps are an issue, especially since I overclock it slightly on the GPU (mostly the memory to improve fill rate).

Just curious... you say your card isn't overclocked. Do you mean you haven't overclocked it so it is at it's out-of-box clocks, or you've checked it against the reference clocks? Many third party cards are overclocked against the design spec's....just most aren't aware of it.

Also...have you verified your PSU is sufficient as well? Note that the 7850/7870 were rated to gobble up over 200 watts themselves--at reference designs (they rely on 75W off the motherboard too, and those Z87 boards from MSI have some caps in hotspots like an old Gigabyte board I had to replace because VRM's failed and blistered the board--the revised design moved them). Seen a lot of people upgrade cards...and not upgrade their aging PSU, which may cause problems as well when the system is placed under a higher load. Note that increases in the number of players on screen will also increase the demand on your system, not just changes in the patches--and we've seen a lot of people jumping back in game recently.

Looks like AMD has some issues still even with the latest 15.11.1 Win10 beta drivers they put out last week. They had supposedly found a fix, but DX11 crashes are still getting reported. Glad my systems are still on Win8...hopefully they will work out the kinks before the free upgrade period for Win10 expires.

I never had any issues till the recent patch. But this is constant no matter what I do... I press Play. I get the Error. I can be ingame for an hour. I get the error. I can be logging off ( not exiting game) and I would get error. I would have to restart in order to have it 'work'... hopefully. I have changed most of my settings and attempted 'other solutions' but nothing has worked. I have tried running on both Dx9 or Dx11, both have errors. At this point it has made this game almost unplayable for me.

Until the patch of today I had never any problems with FFXIV ... now I can't even start the game - during the loading screen my game will crash with "A fatal DirectX error has occured. (11000002)".

1. I cleaned my PC
2. latest Nvidia driver
3. tried DirectX 9 - crashes as well

Concerning nvidia drivers, i installed it manually and just installed not the full drivers but only the graphic driver + the physx one. Don't ask me why but it works for me, i hope it will help you too.

I have no more freezes at all and none crash.

I'm generally safe from this error until I alt tab - it hits me while i'm doing things while alt tabbed, like looking something up on chrome, causes my video driver to crash and recover (this error will sometimes pop, other times the client will just freeze up and i have to end process it and start it again). since i like to alt tab to look things up or check on things quite often, it's pretty annoying. started when i got a new and better pc this fall, and thus switched to the DX11 client. given that it works when i'm not alt tabbed, i'm not prepared to switch back to dx9 client at this point, but it's still getting REALLY irritating.

Similar to me. It seems like something with the recent hotfix is causing this.
