[Suggestion] Cook, Repairer, Apothecary in dungeon

    Hi everybody,

Sometimes people happen to forget food, potions, or repair their stuff before entering an instance. Some have food/potions, others don't, some can repair their own stuff, some can't.

It would be interesting that players who can do anything can provide this service to other players. A player may repair as we can meld a materia for others, may give directly the status of a food he has in stock (no exchange to prevent abuse), or exchange a few potions.
    • The repair could have a fixed rate as NPCs do, to a value of 2x to 3x NPC price, which would cover the 200% repair, the inconvenience, the dark matter and thus prevent repairers to be bothered for "nothing".
    • As for the chef, the effects of the food could be provided directly, after using an interface similar as melding but the other way around, the provider setting its price (and not the reverse).
    • For Apothecary same thing, but it would put them in inventory since they will be for later use. People have raised risk of abuse of inter-world exchange and other issues, so perhaps limit this to a fixed amount of potions received per player per instance.

PS: If this is not the right place for a suggestion feel free to move it.

I don't like the idea for a simple reason: I wouldn't get to kick myself in the head for forgetting levelling food in a levelling dungeon.

There comes a point where convenience takes away any sense of preparation, which is actually a skill players develop. I don't think they should give us access to any utilities inside a dungeon. My gear isn't repaired? It's on me. I only have 5 HQ steamed Staves when I should have brought an Antelope Steak just for the XP buff? It's on me as well.

It's not only on you, it's on the whole penalized team.
And what if you were at 80% but the wipes are raining like... (hmmm no politically correct allegory comes to mind) ? ^^
As I said I can repair my own stuff but not all can, I'd gladly help, it's frustrating to not be able ton finish a long raid (like 24 people raid) because we wiped too much and noone has valid stuff anymore

Although I must admit your have a point for potions and food ^^

I need to disagree for needing food or apothecary service. Foods and potions are really needed only in the top tier content and if people don't know how to prepare on that level, that's on them.

Repairing however. Broken gear can be a game breaker on all levels, and on content where you don't really choose who you play with. There's many a time I've yearned to be able to repair the stuff of a new tank, for example, just so the roulette run wouldn't be painful for everyone involved. I think it shouldn't have fixed cost though. Unless there was fixed cost that gets used up in place of the materia, that is, the target of the repair looses gil -or- repair materia if they have it. But it won't go to the repairers pouch. That should keep it from being inter server gil exchange, and still offer a chance to fix the players even if the whole repair business comes to them as a surprise and they don't have the materia on them.

I agree with the above comments regarding potion and food. When it comes to repairing this sounds like we want a "Field Repair Bot" from World of Warcraft. place one down and anyone can access it! How about we turn it into a recipe for one of the classes!

Actually, no. At least I wouldn't want that. That model is not needed here. In Wow there was no option for players to repair their equipment, so having an npc, even portable one, made sende. Here the portable version of repair are the players who are able to do so. Just let us repair other people's gear. That would also keep people from getting totally lax with their repairs. But it would increase the chance a DF run has at least one who can fix the situation.
