    Skills and abilities without DPS. Charm/Slow/Amnesia/Immobilize

    I'm hoping at some point players will have access to skills that add a more tactical approach to combat. Fights that include the use of sleep, immobilization, slowing movement, charm/confusion or amnesia of enemy skills. As a healer I'd rather have spells that shifted enmity, shielded specific elements and altered enemy behaviors than do direct damage . It would be nice to have a discussion with your party before a boss about tactics based on the group composition. Its basically "This thing hits you, you hit it and I'll heal". I'd rather see "We have a monk so on the 1st add kite it to the outside and "Leg Break" (immobilize) then run back. A bard so we can charm the 2nd add to attack the 3rd. White Mage, at 60% health the boss swaps to ice attacks so please have me protected during that phase and he'll continue to cycle elements every 10% drop in health. Sadly we don't have someone who can amnesia the boss after he buffs so we'll have to be quick on our feet."

    Lol that would only work in pf or with friends. Not in DF but it would nice to actually think about the fights not just dodging, hitting, and healing until you beat it.

    It would actually force duty finder partys to communicate which I am srely missing (I tried but no one really talks even if you ask them what they want to do or if they want to run a specific way sr or slow, getting all Mobs or the extra chests and so on... during all my tanking time i only once received an answer to that and sometimes they do not say anything at all in the beginning of the dungeon or during the run but then complain at the end that i did it to slow/fast that i did/didn't mark the Targets and so on....)

    Well we do have most of the skills, we are just missing the fights that really utilize them.
    Some fights are easier with them though. In A3, throwing slow on the adds that move towards the edge helps to give dps players time to reach them and kill them on time.
    Coincounter in AV can be stunned, so tank and melees do not have to move out of the big swing.
    The main story fight before Castrum regulary utilizes BLMs/WHMs Sleep to keep the adds asleep away from the group while everyone is burning down the boss.
    In T4, for a long time, silencing the thunder attack by the defense systems was super important and the fight was close to impossible to win without doing that, and so on.

    I think anything beyond that would make most of the content impossible to clear with random groups that generally lack coordination.

    Oh I would love that too but sadly the community does not like working together and the game doesn't encourage it. Those type of dungeons would end major wipe fests and then nerfing the content. Remember SoF which I loved.

    SoF was pretty god and with just one Person willing to lead and everyone doing their Job it was easy to do (i was doing it with a group in which only the other tank had done the fight before and everyone else was pretty clueless or at most had some pointers before the fight, but we made it after three wipes and we improved after ever wipe.... was a good run in my eyes).

    You are definitly right that the community wouldn't like it, but the Problem is that SE is encouraging that community (understandable as they do not want to lose Subs). If content would stay unnerfed much longer or forever (for example coil2 which was nerfed harshly) and it wouldn't be so easy to overgear everything (we are already at that Point again, I'm only ilvl180 and the new dungeons are more or lose outgeared already) fights would Need a lot more thought and tactics and Overall would be more enjoyable. BUT that would Need communication and i think that is the main Problem that will also hinder OPs wish: People Play this games as a single player game with advanced NPC AI (the other Players) instead of actually playing together.

    It would encourage some actual thought in dungeons through using CC. When the dungeons aren't taxing on teamwork or individual performance, it does not leave anyone (especially the dps) accountable and lets them get away with bad plays.
