Evolution of your character

Great topic! I mostly lurk, but for this I want to make an exception.



My FFXI character is a mithra, but the long years in addition to the most common hairstyle made me grow tired of them. During the Abyssea era I created a taru alt for dualboxing...



...Which made the choice for XIV much easier. I first planned on playing as hyur, but then I remembered my taru. So, I ended up with a lala based on the looks of my taru. Apart from many different hairstyles and colours, she has mostly gone through subtle changes.



Last summer I made a "big" change: switching to plainsfolk. Later on I decided to change back to her original eye colour, and that's the current look.

Undoubtedly I'll make more small changes (and maybe change name to one that's true to the lore,) but for SB I'm sticking to lala. I've considered trying other races, but so far nothing else has felt right.

started out as a male elezen in 2014

evolved to a gentlemanly elezen

when I finally cleared the primals in 2.0 some months later, I celebrated by changing to lala

then HW came and I thought I wanted to use female cosmetics so I changed to Au Ra

but missed being a potato so changed back

then I thought why not return to my original race? current evolution in my sig and avatar

My character has a very long history dating back across many games, and probably at least a decade if not longer. He has gone through many many changes over the years, developing as I have developed and my ideals and motivations in regards to things have changed, and he is still constantly evolving as I'm introduced to new concepts and worlds. In terms of XIV however, he's still the same he was when I first started playing, except that he has better clothes and has gone from an Arcanist to a Machinist.....

What seems like so long ago....

And yet things haven't changed all that much....

Come back to this thread a year and a half later, and pretty much nothing's changed aside from that I've developed sleeve technology.....

Sadly, I don't have any screenshots from when I first started playing (ARR Beta on PS4) but the colors on my TV weren't the best, so I remember wanting to be a black cat - and I thought Seekers of the Sun had those awesome cat eyes, so I picked that with what I thought was dark grey/black skin -- only to find out once we got a new TV that it was, in fact, dark brown..oops!

So I used my in-game fantasia to change to a Keeper, and give my character a bushier tail.

Thank you all for your replies, it's so cool seeing all of your changes. Even those that have barely changed, seeing the characters develop is awesome.

Okay... beware, there's a lot of pics coming! This was my main look during Beta and for the majority of ARR. Once the aesthetician made his appreance, I've been changing my hair on and off but always went back to this:

3.0 came and I changed to Au'Ra:

These 2 were my main looks. I could never decide which of these 2 hairstyles I liked the most, so I swapped around a lot.



And sometimes I went for dark hair in between.

Around 8 months into HW I started to miss my kitty, so I went back. And this is where most of my screenshots come into play. Whenever I get "bored" with my look, I visit the aesthetician. And this happens A LOT:

I've also swapped to suncat for awhile. I still use that hairstyle and color often, but I've since gone back to mooncat.

I started as a little Seeker girl. Those were the no-pants days as I only had WHM AF trousers (basically underwear)


Although my character had red hair for 90% of the time she sometimes switched to blonde for a day. After a while I made her a Keeper.




But I'm still a big fan of her original appearance so ...


Since Heavensward she's a Keeper again
