FFXI: Pretty bad resolution but oh well: those battle mitts with acc+3 at lvl 13 or so lol
FFXIV:
Started Miqo'te in 1.0:
Stayed Miqo'te in 2.0:

Back to Miqo'te because I missed being a cat, changed hair and such:

I started with a Hellsguard femroe, since I thought it looked alright. I wasn't super fussy about it since I just wanted to play.
At some point I got curious about Miqo'te, so I switched over to that.
I changed hair style and colour pretty infrequently and eventually settled on pink hair.
I used it for the until the end of early access for Heavensward.
As soon as the Fantasias for Heavensward collector's editions were handed out, I hopped on the Au Ra bandwagon.
I decided I liked pink hair more with that hairstyle, later on.
And here I am now, back to blonde, with one of the new hairstyles that came out with 3.1.

I'm just imagining how akward it would be at family reunions. The thought of the effects of Fantasia on other people in world is kind of amusing to me. I finished the 2.55 storyline as a female Miqo'te, then picked up at 3.0 as a male Au Ra. You'd think NPC's at Dragonhead would've been awfully confused, considering the enormous differences. Do they even notice? Maybe it's just something that's known to happen to adventurers every so often and it's considered rude to mention it. "Well, hello there. You're looking... um... rather well. Did you perhaps... ah... get a new haircut?"
"Dwyffvsyn! My big strong son what happened to you?!"
"Mother I am finally who I was inside the whole time a beautiful Miqo'te lass. I go by the name Bayflower now."
"You look beautiful. Where did you get your hair done?"
here's mine
started as male elf
then remade my character as highlander
switched to taru a couple months later
then to elf again about the time I completed Heavensward
and here's my current!

3.0
And lots of different hair cuts, dye, and outfits in between.
Just a repost from a different thread, not that it isn't on subject.
Long ago I took one of those 'What D&D archtype are you?' online quizzes and it said I was an elven Bard (with the impossible alignment of Lawful Neutral, google it). When I started XI I went the shortest elvaan I could manage and gunned for Bard. It... bit me in the butt as Bard in XI is strictly support making any kind of soloing neigh impossible unless I really overleveled it. XIV 1.0 started as a short wildwood elezen conjurer and once I could change class hopped over to archer then unlocked Bard (cause Bard needed conjurer then). Even picked a hairstyle similar to what I had in XI (long, dark). 2.0 I didn't change much though I did push the boob slider to 0 (if I wanted huge boobs I'd have played a duskwight, biggest boobs in 1.0). I do change my hairstyle from time to time as I like to have my character look like me, guess I'm vain like that.
Unfortunately I have no screenshots but been with this character since FFXI zilart expansion and all the way till now. never changed hairstyles or anything. Been quite an awesome journey to be able to travel with this guy over the years.
So I guess Eorzean people are surprisingly open-minded about transgender despite being a society which is technologically closer to the middle ages than the present x)
More on topic:
I really love how you can see someone's style throughout all the changes into very different races, haircolours and sometimes even genders. It's like..something basic stays the same, something I can't quite grasp. But I think it's amazing how people manage to express themselves even with the options being so different for every race, and it still is obviously...them![]()
