Evolution of your character

Nice thread idea.

I started out in FFXI, like many others. I actually bought the game to play as an Elvaan but during the character creation process I changed my mind (I wanted to be a THF, and the Mithra had better character creation music). So this was me from 2002 until earlier this year when my PS2s could no longer keep up with the strain:



I had a brief visit to the world of FFXIV when it was in beta, and this was my character. Unfortunately I didn't have a computer which could run it well enough to play properly, so I hardly have any pictures:



Eventually the game came out for PS3 so I bought it and made a new character. Still wanting to be a Duskwight, I decided to go with a guy this time. Renard was born:



I was expecting Elezen to be reasonably common. Boy, was I wrong. I rarely see any others on my server, and hardly any are Duskwights. In a way it's nice that no matter how plain I look I always stand out in a crowd.

Over time I upgraded to PS4 and persuaded my old FFXI linkshell to migrate to FFXIV. I married my real-life partner in-game and decided to change hairstyles as a surprise for the wedding ceremony, since my usual style was too casual. Everyone made fun of me for arriving at the venue dressed casually and wearing a hat, but the surprise worked well. I was going to switch straight back to my old hairstyle but in the end the new one grew on me.



I don't tend to change characters much once I've become attached (my free Fantasia was used to adjust my date of birth because I'd accidentally left it as the default). Renard's clothes change every day but he'll probably look exactly the same forever.
