Free company listing NPC?

Some other MMOs have this type of thing, and it didn't really harm their social interactions.

Basically, you interact with a NPC or object that lists all available guilds that are listed as recruiting with said NPC/object. Any new or veteran player can interact with it and choose whichever they want to join to their liking rather than shouting numerous times in shout/yell chat about a place to join. Once they select the guild they want, they'll have to fill in a text box explaining their application, then it gets sent off for an officer or Guildmaster to accept.

Couldn't something like this exist at Grand Companies?

Even FFXI has something like this. Even though it was introduced really late, its still something they eventually added. It should have a list of all of the free companies made that if you click a name, it'll take you to the company profile. In turn they should allow the company Slogan (or another text entry slot entirely) to be increased to more characters for a more in-depth recruit message.

I also think this would be a great idea. With the chaos server transfer, I was looking for a new FC.. Luckily, I found a good one on Google, because party finder / shouts sounded miserable.

I thought about it a long time ago, making a second tab in the PF window under a "Free Company" category instead of having to walk to any npc.

This would be such a great quality of life add.... especially with over 500 NPCs easily on most servers

EverQuest 2 has a feature, attached to their social-finding feature, where you could look up any guilds that are recruiting. No need to speak to an NPC, just hit the hotkey and browse to your heart's content. It's not a bad idea, if I do say so myself.

(Unrelated, I personally prefer EQ2's way of handling cosmetic appearances over FF XIV's glamour and WoW's transmog system.)
