I don't find players friendly.

...I don't talk with anyone and the little I do say, often gets ignored.
I am wondering if it is like this across the whole game; that there isn't much welcome for brand new players. Am I wrong in this assessment or did I just choose the wrong FC and server?

That's terrible. I'm super sorry you've had such a bad experience so far. My advice would be to shop around for another FC. I'd invite you to mine [UINC] on Leviathan server but we don't log in very much as of late. Tho I kinda understand. There's a huge gap between the hardcores, the wannabe hardcores and the rest of us (midcores and casuals). You'll occasionally find a douchebag in a PUG and that's just the way it is, but you should not, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, put up with an FC that treats you that way. I'd suggest trying to join some link shells. I had a similar experience myself, I actually wrote a similar post on Reddit and somehow I ended up in a few link shells where I've made a better friends than I did within the FC I was in. Ask around and hopefully you'll get to a point where you're happy in game and surrounded by players who are your friends.
