When will you really address the housing availability problem?

Oh yeah! I completely forgot about the moghouse in XI, I rarely ever went in mine other than to put a few tabards and flags in that I earned via the city-state quests (or whatever they were called at the time). I still think Wildstar has the best housing in modern MMO's, it's amazing to see what people have done with their plots.

Had my mog house all decked out. Didn't use it as much as I do my FC room, but was great to have at times when just hanging around the main cities.
I've never played Wildstar, but I've heard good things about it. It sad when a f2p game has much more to offer over a game that we pay for monthly

There's a pretty substantial different between "not feasible" and "poorly executed/incompetent".

PS3 limitations

..are not the problem here. The PS3 doesn't care if there are 2 housing districts or 2 million. It's only loading one zone at a time into the PS3's memory, not all of them, so the number is irrelevant. It's why you don't have to upgrade your PS3 every time they add a new dungeon or other adventuring zone to the game.

I enjoyed having my own village..i used to afk in there due to the music of the town with water, if even WKC could do it wtf is SE doing.

Incorrect. If a player is gone for good, the chance of losing a house isn't going to make them come back.

Honestly, I took a break from FFXIV for my college semester. I didn't have planned to come until perhaps April, March. And the -only- reason I came back was to not lose my house ._. It's an FC house, but our FC is two people strong (my boyfriend and me), so we pretty much sub at the same time. We didn't want to lose the house cuz we REALLY had a hard time saving for it (very casual players, not crafters, busy parents, etc) and I (not so much him) was gonna be VERY VERY bummed out if I missed it. I legit paid October (or November) to log in, step into my house, do an event that was going on, and didn't log back in until the end of semester in December (late December to boot). It's strategic, and obviously won't work on ALL players, but it will definitely work on a lot.

In that time, I've been saving every gil I could to get a house, not being able to enjoy minions, new glamour outfits, whatnots - I have a pile of gil having forfeited a lot of enjoyment, and I still can't have a house. Do the math, SE.

Feeling disillusioned as well. The one thing I was really looking forward to is currently (and for the foreseeable future), unavailable to me no matter how much gil I have.

Even when new houses are added I have no guarantee I'll get one before they're all snatched up. I could be waiting a year and a half even. Especially if players who already have houses are still allowed more.

Waiting to be able to really enjoy this game the way I wanted to. How long will it be I wonder..

The prices for housing are well-known. There is a lot of stuff you could have done without losing the chance to buy a house once there is a free one.
I always only kept the bare minimum to afford my dream house, and had a lot of fun those 2 years. The housing problem is bad and it needs to be solved, but don't blame SE for your decision to not spend ANY Gil..xD

They should just remove all the servers that hardly anyone plays on, and just convert them into housing districts for the few real servers.

EQ 2 housing blows this housing out of the water- if for nothing else there are heritage quests (which are better than any gear quests in this game)... and you can mount the weapons and place them as trophies in your house. There are tons of trophies from quests and such.... plus everyone has access to some kind of house.

There's no reason a game so much older- and now F2P is so much better than this one at housing. Heck I got a veteran reward on there for being there since the beta that is a Mistmoore Mansion. I love it... and the crafters can make SO much more house stuff there.
