But there IS truth, its not completely impossible but unlikely due to the amount of instances in this game. Instances are provided through the DF servers. There was a time when the df servers were extremely unstable and waiting for your DF to load the instance was a problem in the past due to volume. I could see a couple hundred if not more instances clogging up the df servers... not to mention ppl like to afk at houses. I dont know the data needs for this game compared to others but offloading all of this onto the df servers might not be the best fix. Sounds like the server resources problem thats been beat to death in this topic already. Again the question is whether or not yoshidas throwing out excuses. Why not just let ppl host their own instances till they figure out how best to please the mob.

Nah my FC was still worried about housing at the time. lol. Sure yay new content, but we knew SE wasn't doing anything about housing... and we would continued to be locked out of more content. We have since overpaid for a house, but there are still paying customers that have been waiting for a year.

They got us so starved for housing plots already, I don't care what I have to do to get one. Murder my FC? Okay. Betray my Grand Company? Sure, why not. Sell my rl home to afford the FFXIV one? If you say so, SE.
At this point, as long as it's available in some shape or form, I'd even throw rl money at SE if it meant I can finally tend to my own garden =.=

I'd end up buying it too, and that's the problem. They wait for the frustrations of the playerbase to build up, and then bam! Here's some on the Mog Station for ya', who could resist? I hope Yoshida has a better sense of how not to fuck over his fan base though.

I wish i was but that's how SE runs his game these days. They tell you they can't give you any extra retainer when there's way more items to store now than what we had on release but they are totally fine to RENT you extra retainers in the cash shop and not only 1 but multiple.

So at this point it wouldn't surprise me at all that they would rent or sell housing areas for real money.

The one saving grace we have from that scenario is housing already exists for free. The equivalent would be some players getting two free retainers while everyone else must pay. I'm not entirely convinced SE would attempt that model given the immense backlash that would follow.

First, let's be honest and admit that the true aim of housing reclamation is to encourage inactive players to resubscribe (a minimum of 5-6 months out of the year).

Tbh, you would think these players have better use for that money, I personally wouldn't pay for a game that I'm not loving.
