I pretty much turn off all effects, including mine. Do away with a LOT of stuff on the HUD. You know it's bad when you Focus Target something and your "clock" in the upper right corner disappear. It's not solid, but doable.

I DO have a PS4 as well, so I'm not sure why I keep playing on PS3.

The only reason I have went this long with a PS3 is because FFXIV is the only game I play, and seeing as it is PS3 'compatible' there was no need, I fully intend to get a PS4 when the time comes I just don't see how they can say this game 'supports' PS3 when some of its main features are impossible to do IE Hunts/Diadem, etc. I have every graphic turned off, everything at lowest. I'm not complaining cause I'm broke I'm complaining because if I have a game, it should work. If they come out with FFXIV for Dreamcast and all u can do is log in; they shouldn't sell it, let alone full price, you know?

2 out of all of the activities in this game run poorly (on a low-end system) and that equates to, "All I can do is log in."

Over-exaggerating.

Also, a low-end system is going to have low-end performance. You can buy most games on PC, and they optimize it the best they can to run on lower end systems, but if your Windows 98 computer can't run it, there's not much they can really do for you.

So I grabbed my PS4 XIV case 'Technical specifications and information on the package as of March 2015'. I'm going to presume this is similar to the PS3 case, and also has greater details for me re; specs if I so wish to find it which would say something along the lines of "MMOs are a constantly evolving and enhancing, old hardware gets outdated and is no longer able to keep up sometimes. Too bad."

PS3 support will end relatively soon. PS3 cannot run this game very well any more plus it holds the game really back. PS4 got cheaper and I suppose another incentive to jump to PS4 will come before PS3 support ends once and for all finally.

PS3 is likely going to be cut out of the next expansion anyway, Yoshi P all but confirmed this already in an interview he did prior to Heavensward being announced. If you had saved $20 a month over the last 2 years since the system came out, you'd be playing this on a PS4 by now at minimum. People really need to ditch the concept that this game is fully experienced on PS3... it's not even close to ideal. Make whatever sacrifice you have to and upgrade already.

had the experience of having a ps3 player in our diadem HM grioup last night on tric island. there were 4 groups there (including ours) and he was doing 45dps. When asked if he could see the mobs he said "sometimes"

needless to say we werent getting credit on a lot of things so we ended up moving to another island with another group and just farmed there.


No offense but ps3 players in diadem are a hinderence to any group they join with credit being how it is.

You're on a 10 year old console, you had to have seen this coming. Next we'll have to hear about how cutting ps3 support is unfair

getting disconnected once from the internet will force you out of the Ps4 and you can do anything unless you completely turn it off and re-sign in to play online again.

Uh what? I've had connection problems lately, and I simply go into config, switch from wired to WiFi, test connection, then open ffxiv as normal. The ps4 automatically signs me back into psn without any reboot needed. Are you giving it enough time to reestablish an IP address?
