Have you tried adjusting your settings? Turn off other player's VFX? Stuff like that? There's no way that the PS3 is that bad without there being any way to fix it on your end, unless you have similar or worse issues in 24 player raids and S rank hunts. Besides, unless you're healing, (and for some reason manually targeting instead of using D-Pad targeting), being able to see the other players doesn't actually prevent you from playing the content......

I tried A ranks on PS3 and gave up. The boss wouldn't actually appear until it was dead - if there are too many people on screen, it won't load. I also tried to heal and my party members wouldn't show.. And oh dear lord, the lag..

Looks like you need to start looking to upgrade to either PS4 or a fancy PC.

The game on PS4 is magical, btw. I recommend. Or a PC that can run the game as well as or better than the PS4 if you can afford it. (That way you can use DX11)

How is this acceptable, either make it work or stop compatiblity with PS3, I'm paying for this game to not work for me, when I could be saving up for a PS4 to work in the future... Just kill it.

Then... stop playing and use the money you could be saving to buy a PS4? Sounds to me like you answered your own question, but regardless, just make the switch. You won't regret it, its like a night and day difference.

So you're blaming the game for allowing you to do something that you can simply choose not to do?
I dont understand people angry at someone else for something self inflicted, no one's forcing you to play on a ps3, in fact you should be greatful that the devs even still allow you to do so.

The PS3 simply can't handle it, and as harsh as it sounds, you should get yourself a PS4 soon anyway because they're going to discontinue the PS3 sooner or later.

The PS4 isn't new anymore, I sympathised with PS3 users at first, I was one of them for a while. But getting yourself a PS4 is going to enhance your gameplay so much and also save yourself from having to buy one further down the line.

I pretty much turn off all effects, including mine. Do away with a LOT of stuff on the HUD. You know it's bad when you Focus Target something and your "clock" in the upper right corner disappear. It's not solid, but doable.

I DO have a PS4 as well, so I'm not sure why I keep playing on PS3.

The only reason I have went this long with a PS3 is because FFXIV is the only game I play, and seeing as it is PS3 'compatible' there was no need, I fully intend to get a PS4 when the time comes I just don't see how they can say this game 'supports' PS3 when some of its main features are impossible to do IE Hunts/Diadem, etc. I have every graphic turned off, everything at lowest. I'm not complaining cause I'm broke I'm complaining because if I have a game, it should work. If they come out with FFXIV for Dreamcast and all u can do is log in; they shouldn't sell it, let alone full price, you know?

So I grabbed my PS4 XIV case 'Technical specifications and information on the package as of March 2015'. I'm going to presume this is similar to the PS3 case, and also has greater details for me re; specs if I so wish to find it which would say something along the lines of "MMOs are a constantly evolving and enhancing, old hardware gets outdated and is no longer able to keep up sometimes. Too bad."
