    New to Crafting

Since I quit raiding, I wanted to start crafting. A LOT of crafting. My problem is I don't even know where to begin. My weaver is at 51 while the rest of my classes are sitting around 20-15. Carpenter is the highest at 35. I've got both Botanist and Miner at 50. I don't have any artisans gear or foragers gear at all. What should I be doing first? Am I going to have to make new gear for my weaver and gathering classes? I should also mention I don't have a whole lot of money

I highly recommend you NOT to proceed with your Weaver yet, but getting the following first in the following order:
    Steady Hand II (CUL 37)
    Byregot's Blessing (CRP 50)
    Ingenuity II (BSM 50)
    Innovation (GSM 50)

The above are the "basics" for post-50 play, pretty much needed from 51 to 60. If you want, you can also grab:
Comfort Zone (ALC 50) and other lvl 50 cross class skills too.

Since you're a relatively young crafter comparing to all-50s, I recommend you visiting my old, original crafting guide:
    http://ffxivrealm.com/guides/ff14-ad...ie-tsukino.39/
I believe Chapter 10 to Chapter 13 will be of great use to you... particular Ch 12A and 12B, which I have put in a lot of new contents lately to teach new crafters how to generate rotations on their own.
The chart in Ch8 may also be helpful to you.
These will set the basis for you, and help you level up the remaining classes with ease.

Meanwhile, if you want to gear up your Weaver, you can try to acquire the turn-in traded i70 Artisan's gear from Talan. If you're not properly geared, it'll be difficult to acquire the turn-in traded i70 Artisan's gear. You can try to see if you can do the turn-in ones though. With lvl 51, it adds a lot more power than lvl 50 (Do not underestimate how much ARR items would become easier with each level).

Otherwise, you should try to acquire:

These should be much cheaper than acquiring the crafted i60 Artisan's gear & i70 offhands. But again, it might be difficult for you to craft without other level 50 cross class skills.

If Gil is an issue, you are really only left with a two part question. Do I have the mats, can I get them?

For 20-35 you are looking at Cotton, Linen and Aldgoat, boar leather. Also, don't forget shards and crystals, .aka catalysts. If you need to gather them this can take longer than all other mats. An Opal takes 3 Raw Opal and a Cloud Mica Whetstone. The cloud mica whetstone takes 3 cloud mica and both the cloud mica and the Opal use 5 wind crystals so you need 3 Cloud mica, 3 raw opal and 10 Wind crystals. That's a pattern that follows you through all recipe versions. You will enjoy the crafting experience a lot more if you are able to see a recipe and make it rather than micro manage bottlenecks in materials.

some other sources for you are Ashe 10 and Mithrie Menethil. They both have all kinds of guides. Mithrie has different versions for if you have money or do not and has them all the way back to ARR. Check them out if you are still stuck.
Seriously if you are going to be a serious crafter you need to get all to 60 so level them all at the same pace...it is going to take some time my friend you are way behind the 8 ball here but it is still doable if you have the time and patience for it.

Up to 50 his guides are effective. We tend to stray in views at 50 to 60. As of 3.1 it is faster, more effective and cheaper to level using blue scrips.

Prime example. 56 blue scrip recipe: Ramie Cloth. You need 2500 to turn in. 2xHQ Ramie thread and 1XHQ Linen thread is 3000+ collectibility. If you spammed Careful Synth II in Patrician you could get turn in level Raimie Cloth and get 115,000 exper for each one plus a small amount of gil and blue scrips.

Culi would be the cookie cutter response and rightly so. My reasoning being, it gets you away from the biggest inventory drag but it also allows you to make some foods and for skills as cross class as well.

I can see you have acquired Careful Syn II and Byregot now. Ingenuity II (Blacksmith 50) and Innovation (Goldsmith) would be great to acquire next. However, I can see you having CUL sitting at 27. So Ksenia's actually right about pushing CUL first. If you can just get it to lvl 37 for Steady Hand II, it'll be very beneficial. Don't need CUL 50 at this point though. Once you have 37 CUL, I would recommend going back to BSM and GSM.

I'll echo what others have said. Make CUL 37 your next priority. Steady Hand 2 is pretty nice. It only costs 3 CP over Steady Hand 1 and grants you an extra 10% success rate. Higher success rates means more successful Touches, which means a more powerful BB when you're ready for that last push of quality.
