This is how I see new players as the game get older "waaaahh that person that been playing for 5 years has items I don't have, I demand you give it to me also"

Funny. I don't remember the Cash Shop being player charity. I could also just as easily say "waaaah, someone else might get that exclusive item I got. Now I won't be SPECIAL!"
Both sound pretty silly~
And this is the problem with these threads, arguments devolve to a point where people claim the other side are acting like children, while acting like children themselves. A continuous never ending cycle, at least until the thread dies down.
maybe if they did the same as moonfire faire this year, including the previous years rewards with the annual event. as far as things like the lightning event, mogstation. id rather resources be spent on new content than releasing old content every time someone speaks up cause they missed it for whatever reason

While I cannot help but notice the OP's desperate need of attention during the past 2 weeks...
Let's face reality for a moment here, no matter how many posts you make about this subject, there will always be a group to disagree with the subject. It's the yin and yang of the community.
In a perfect world, we all get what we want, but unfortunately, we do not. Exclusivity is a real thing, you have to accept that. You may say that there is no reason to put into the cash shop and make profit, but you do have to consider many different aspects. Even in RL, companies make stuff such as limited edition figures or cards, that is limited in number and only sold during a certain period until sold out. Why would they do that? If they make more, they can make tons more profit? Why be stupid to make something and only produce 100 units? It's a way of saying thanks to their royal customers (by also taking more of their money at the same time). If a limited edition model was then re-released to the general public, that's almost like a HUGE f**k you to the people who got it before.
If every seasonal/limited item got released in the Mog Shop at a later date, that ruins the point of having the special event the first place. Like, idk about anyone else, but I haven't done any events since the one that gave out Yukata's (which I think was released in the mog shop). I even skipped the Halloween event, may even skip the FFXI event. Why? There is a high chance they will end up in the cash shop anyways.
I can no longer justify doing certain events to get something where I can throw in chump change to get.

That's not very logical though.I even skipped the Halloween event, may even skip the FFXI event. Why? There is a high chance they will end up in the cash shop anyways.
"Oh, you know what, I'd rather pay 15$ for the event items of this event, and 15$ for that event. Even though I'm actually playing the game and subbed during them (and could have them for free). I have too much money, ho ho ho."
Get them if you were unsubbed or not yet playing at the time. Also OST and plushies and preorder minions should be available in the cash shop too. As well as all previous event minions/glamours. Except Legacy I guess. And only a full year after the event.
You know you can still get collectors now? With a digital collector thing. I don't want to buy a 30$ plushie to have to pay 35$ shipping on it because their store shipping is bad for Canada shipping (and doesn't even ship to some countries), just to get a minion. But I'd buy the minion itself. Same for 50$ Blu-Rays that also ship for 35$. I could get the entire Star Wars saga in Blu-Ray for less....than an OST.

It adds real life $ value to them, and that attracts collectors who want to eventually resell the item. The only way you could do that with FF14 would be to sell your account, and that's not legal.Even in RL, companies make stuff such as limited edition figures or cards, that is limited in number and only sold during a certain period until sold out.
Summoner first, Scholar second...but mainly crafter.

Uh... reselling is also not technically 'legal' in majority of cases. People buy and sell account here and there, it's something that cannot be stopped just cause it's against ToS to do so.
Adding in, I was talking about profit for the companies, not the consumer. A thousand unit will make more profit than 100 units, but they still do lower numbers. Why not just mass produce them? They probably get as many emails asking for a re-release every week.

Idk much seasonal event items that costs $15, but if you say so. It may not be logical, but I'd rather spend my playtime (which equals hours/time=money) doing core content rather than waste time running around in circles. If I really want something, I will buy it with $$. Though honestly, I've only ever bought maybe a pack of 8 metallic red dyes. Don't really see anything worthwhile.
That's the thing, if you were unsubbed, that is your problem. You don't get to miss a week of work and ask for your pay.Get them if you were unsubbed or not yet playing at the time. Also OST and plushies and preorder minions should be available in the cash shop too. As well as all previous event minions/glamours. Except Legacy I guess. And only a full year after the event.

'Except Legacy', why are you singling out things now? If everything should be available, then everything should be.
Digital Collectors edition = you don't get any of the physical content. There is still exclusivity (as I mentioned in my first post).
