That is a horrible idea.

SE needs to go back to letting players purchase old event gear from NPC when the event comes up again (Moonfaire, xmas, halloween, etc). Pulling items from the game to sell it on the Mog Station is balls.

This wouldn't help you for things like lightning hair and the moogle outfit, but seriously, this is an MMO. Some items are just going to be exclusive, or one-time only, because that is the nature of MMOs.

Well I can see how people get this way cause of schools and stuff that give out participation awards so that little johnny over there doesn't feel left out. Which brings us to the game well people now think that even though they were not there they still think they should get all the stuff that the other players that were around got. MMOs for items like event can almost be just like RL you were either there to take part in the event and get the items or you were not. Especially when the game start to get 5 years and people complain about stuff people got years ago and they don't cause they just started.

There is an important psychological aspect here a few people have touched on. If you see a cool seasonal piece of gear that you missed out on, you will want to avoid missing future events - which means staying subscribed. If you know you can always get the item later, even if it's once a year, that's one less incentive to stay subbed. It is, again, a business strategy. The point of doing this sort of thing is to get and keep subscriptions.

Genuinely curious, but is this the first MMO for a lot of people who are want the release of all items? Exclusive items are the norm for MMOs.

personally:
-"NO it's a thank you for supporting the game" you support something because you want to, you don't expect stuff in return for doing a favor.
-The experience of and limited time event: yeah the event was exclusive for a promotion you were there you had the experience of doing those quest or fates is what personally makes it worth and rewarding because let's be honest when there's an event and everybody gets the same outfit a lot of people don't even wear the outfit because everyone at that time has the outfit on what makes it so "ughh overrated"

tbh i'm happy that i got a free item ingame and I participate in a one-time event where i took a lot of screenshots and hang out with people there and for the people who weren't there have to buy it but good for them because they are buying it cause they really want the item so let them have fun with their character

I find it quite sad that you would simply write off anyone who voiced a different opinion as a "salty special snowflake".
