    A way around DoL problems: Make them worth having.

    Some simple measures to avoid DoL problems.

    1) Change the party make up.
    Ideally, for me, this would mean a ten person party. The same as it is now, but also with 2x DoL required. However, there are ways you could work it with a 8 man party. Perhaps one less DPS, one DoL.

    2) Lock jobs.
    This will stop people from joining with one job then switching to DoL (or vice versa) immediately and trolling the group for their own personal gain.

    3) Make DoL beneficial and needed.
    There are so, so many ways this could be done. For example, imagine if tracks could only be spawned through gathering. It's the job of 8x people to defend the DoL from mobs while they do their thing. Have DoL gear drop as well as DoW/M so the DoL aren't left out. Encourage teamwork. And so it's not just a "let's just keep the mob busy until the DoL is done, then all die and reattempt" - give the DoL enough to do at each node(s) that they will be kept very busy throughout the fight, or even allow them to benefit the fight a la 1.x Hamlet.

    4) Allow Join in Progress / Kick from content, and remove the 120 minute lockout.
    Quite frankly this system has been a disaster from the get-go. With locked jobs and no timeout the problems would be no different to raids/dungeons. So kicking and joining in progress should be perfectly fine, and those who abuse it can be reported appropriately.

    5) Personal opinion, not so important to the DoL problem: Make Need/Greed the default loot system, just like in dungeons.
    It's basically what people are doing already anyway, and anyone who doesn't do it is considered a troll by the majority. We can get around that problem with a normal need/greed system and locked jobs.

    These changes would...

    - Encourage teamwork.
    - Encourage use of DoL.
    - Encourage fighting to defend DoL.
    - Encourage exploration and movement around the field (ie, less zerg in one spot a la Dino Island).
    - Not discourage parties from working together to protect the DoL.
    - Hopefully encourage a lot more positive vibes!
    - Remove most forms of griefing/trolling commonly found in Diadem.

    There was a suggestion on another thread I read that DOL should be able to gather diadem specific treasure maps which you could use to spawn monsters. I thought that was a good idea (obviously upon leaving the instance the map would crumble or something)

    Another idea I saw was that you find/get buffs for your party while gathering.

    I think finding chests with additional time might be interesting to, similar to abyssea in ffxi. Although if everyone's gathering these might spawn to much, so maybe make it so you can only find a 5 min time increase every 20 mins or something.

    They should add another spot on the df, id say only one since the content will die one day, then the DOL is locked to DOL jobs only (can switch freely among them) then they add the need option at least on the 210s for df. This should stop the crybagging, people can enter the job they want the 210s for, if theres none of that job that can need it then everyone can greed it as normal.

    Would be nice that there were forests or caves (both of which are in...to an extent anyway) that had exclusive nodes that had exclusive items. It'd be the only source of it. But due to the nature of caves or otherwise an enclosed area, you can't fly and put up with respawning mobs. Going in with a typical and light party would be enough to get some decent treasures.

    I mean you take a look at the trailer where you see them fishing and mining in caves while another party is killing the mobs...none of that is encouraged because there's ultimately no point to it (and infact is typically lower as far as payout is concerned)

    They would never remove the lockout because you could eso cap in 2 hours basically.

    I would love to have most of these suggestions. The buffs to combat jobs, and digging up maps especially!
