    Suggestions to improve Diadem

    - We need more than just "everyone go to Dino island and spawn stuff". It's repetitive. Mix up the islands a bit. Randomize where things will spawn and when. Make every journey to the Diadem a challenge, not a faceroll.

    - This one-shot gatherers stuff is getting old. I realize that the enemies on the island are dangerous, but if we're so fragile there needs to be some strategy to it. They can see right through stealth, but if I'm hiding behind a bush to gather and the monster is facing the other way, it shouldn't be able to insta aggro and kill me the moment I sneak up to harvest.

    - Let us trade in brass spoils for steel - Even if the exchange rate is a bit high!

    - Randomize what can be gathered/harvested/fished. Loot in caves should be potentially more valuable than loot in the outworld.

    I understand Diadem was a way to have gathering and battle classes work together, but you see what's become of that. There should really be a way to enhance the value of every class that contributes -- i.e. an onslaught of dragons is coming. Logs and stones are needed to build fortifications. Fish are needed to feed the army. Etc. etc.

    Ya, the teamwork aspect is lacking a bit.

    The current meta you could say is, learn to fly, and now gatherers are pretty much free to do as they please without restriction. Dying isn'ta big deal, just get up and find safer nodes. Heck as unpopular as this idea might be, Diadem, DOW/DOM only, brass spoils can be traded in for favors, usable in the outside world to get what's currently in Diadem, then those items found with favors could then be traded in for steel, or said favor could be used to make x item that is normal hidden unhidden for a limited amount of time.

    This would encourage DOL to want to fight, cause the more loot they get, the more they help fight, the more they can use those brass to go in the world and use said favors to get the items.

    Of course I've commented on this idea before but the other one isa gather gauge based on many mobs you defeat, when it goes down you have to beat mobs again, have each 100% act as an ability to gather from 1 area fully or rather, say each gather attempt is 10% but either way, cap it 10k% and let DOL burn their gather gauge then come back to help fight again. With that in mind have it where the mobs won't aggro DOL hiding while their gather gauge is above a certain % so let's say, Hide works when Gather gauge is at 500%, when it falls below that hide no longer works. This would then cut the gather ability in half, but also allow those who want to combo DOW/DOM and DOL to work together and burn through the whole 10k%.

    Maybe to add more incentive to that it could be said the rather from 1-500% is faster than 500-10k% with say 25% per kill but then past 500% it's 10% per kill based on rank of mob. That would encourage the idea of DOW/DOM working with DOL instead of the cluster it is right now where DOL have free reign once they can fly.

    I don't mind the one-shot DoL kills to be honest, even when I enter via FC with a friend with our only intent being to gather. It's just part of what makes it a bit more interesting. And let's face it: Even if it were 3-4 shots to kill you, you're still gonna die. Better to get it over with quickly.

    Just made a thread kind of similar to this one about how to get rid of "DoL problems" by forcing people to work together. Teamwork should be king.

    This 100%. It'd be cool if they had things like "Gathering Node Holdouts" where there's a pocket of rare ore or fish or plants but its under siege by waves of mobs of varying difficulties.

    A similar system could be made for Crafters. "We're trying to build a forward exploration outpost on Dino island but its overrun with monsters! Help us clear it out and build some temporary fortifications (WW), protect and clothe any new-coming Sky Pirates (LTW,WVR,ARM,BSM) make us some medicine (ALC), cook us some rations (CUL/Fishing). There could even be repair missions. There's so much potential! They could treat it similar to a Guildleve and reward based on completion time, quality of items crafted/gathered etc. The rewards could be Bronze, Silver and Gold chests.

    On top of that, there could be ways for Gathers and Crafters and DoW to work together for non-objective based goals. Let's say you have an ALC and a BTN in the same group as six other DoW members. BTN's gather resources, we'll call them "Diadem Herbs". The ALC can use them to make "Diadem Potions of Hunting". The DoW players can use those potions to "Increase your ability to detect fresh tracks after slaying a monster Duration: 15m". That concept could be applied to Fishing and Cooking also. Maybe even Woodworking could have an application here too. They could create a "Fire Pit" consumable that gives "Adds Regen to Nearby Players Duration: 15m" to make killing stuff at a camp easier?

    It bothers me that when you get to it with a 24 man raid you dont even get to see an alliance part like on 24 man raids.

    I think what it lacks is versatility, such as DOL needs to gather something to spawn a determined monster or relrease a determined thing to get a special loot.

    Lets say that you are getting 210 ivll a lot of they are pretty trash, if you could get DOL to help spawn something that could randomize a item that could get higher stats would turn people on to have a DOL on it.




    And honestly i dont care about the Oneshot mechanic, i kinda wanted to see a pandemoniun and a absolute virtute kind of monster on diadem, where you would need to cooperate with everyone to down it and get exclusive items from super bosses.


    Having bosses get weakened by something like DOL things that they can get on the diadem would be a nice idea.


    Fates would be also a interesting idea.

    The whole diadem is a mess but it can be good

    I wish DoL could get Diadem only Treasure Maps that had to be used in the 90 minutes. Farm maps, pop chests.

    I'm also going to post what I put on another thread

    I've been the leader of the alliance, party lead and a normal party member several times now.

    Getting 24 people to the FC workshop, making sure everyone had gear of the minimum iLvl as well as everyone having their own Mission Ceruleum (No, not the Voucher...) was already a bit of mess. The fact that every time someone DC we lost the entire alliance as well as no indication that we were even in an alliance as a normal party member was frustrating. And that is before you even go in.

    Once in you are separated from the other two parties, this is fine and keeps the initial minutes of unlocking flying somewhat exciting. For us, as each party unlocked flying we would try to go help other parties unlock flying. Not being able to see the dots on the map made this unnecessarily cumbersome.

    Alliance wide chat would be extremely helpful... Not all 24 of us were in the same FC or even LS. We tried to use Teamspeak but it was just a cluster of voices...

    Can we just get the alliance system we have for the other 24 man content? I would like to be able to see all the dots on my map as well as the UI frames so I can see who needs healing.

    Timer extensions would be really cool. Even if people started to drop out an extension would mean we could go gather or fight other things.

    I think there should be a bigger reward for exploring. For example, you can discover/gather hidden coffers that contain pieces of a treasure map, once pieced together, it will lead the way to a fresh tracks, or a gold chest. Basically, Dino Island grinding renders the whole "Exploratory" obsolete. It's a shame, because I do love the concept of the Diadem

    They just need to make it less boring. If I wanted to do dino pulls I'd play some shitty grindfest f2p mmo.


    My suggestion is to make the parties 1 tank, 2 heals, 3-4 dps, 1-2 gatherers. Make caves and other non-flyable areas the focus. The goal will be to safely escort the gatherers through the non-flying areas so they can gather and bring them back safely. Stuff is rewarded to the whole party based on how much is gathered. The gatherer's might have to play some skill based minigame or something as they gathered, like tetris for example, while the party protects them from mobs.

    Either that or make the missions the focus, like instead of doing 3 missions, doing 10/15 missions or something should drop each person a couple "keys" that can be used to open a chest at a NPC. The chest will be something like "BLM pirates box" or "WHM pirates box", so you get a guaranteed couple of random i210 pieces for a job you want at the end of diadem. Make the missions a bit harder/interesting, like "feed this mob to this other mob" or "protect this NPC" or something. Kinda like levequests for a whole party.

    Another idea, but probably less suitable for what we have now, would be PvP in diadem. So you'd try to protect your gatherers from other teams. To prevent teams from just going full dps and ganking teams with a couple gatherers, maybe either add some defender's advantage or add some job restrictions or something. I would enjoy this immensely, but I know some others might not like PvP so I dunno about this one.
