On topic: I doubt I will pay for my sub until 2.0. Not cause it's not worth it or cause I'm "A lazy fat loser," but because with Star Wars and Guild Wars and Diablo, and even patch 4.3 in WoW (not to mention the countless other single player games coming out, like Batman Arkham City) I just won't have the money to spend on a game that will completely change in the long run. In it's current form it was a good price at 30 bucks solid to buy and no fees, but for a guy who has no job in a market with no hopes of finding one, it's not a good investment right now.

Andros I'm glad you have the cash to pay for it, good for you, but you don't have to be a complete tool.

It's actually the perfect time in SE's eyes. Just think about it.

First of all they're getting nothing from the players at all right now. So they are giving people the option of playing to see what happened(the prequel) before Eorzia got hit by Meteor. So pretty much if you want to pay for the prequel of what seems to be an amazing game, you can. That's why they're relaunching the game when 2.0 is finished, they understand a lot of people will quit. Right now they probably need the development money more than players to keep the game alive. They're pretty much betting it all on 2.0, which I must say looks amazing.

If MRD start working properly once again (and i start having fun battling again) it is possible that i stay...but if after 1.20 the game still offer no fun then its a /goodbye.

I don't know what definition of trolls people use in this forum, but if you're talking about people that disagree with you they are not going anywhere. Now people will start and end their threads with "i pay for this and i deserve to bitch and moan all day about it."

On the monthly fee topic, saying that they have over 250 people working on the game is not an excuse to charge a monthly fee. Take a game like swtor for example, they have hundreds of people developing it for years without receiving a single penny for it. Instead they should say how much it takes to keep he servers running to let us play right now and not shut down the game till 2.0 comes out.

People are mad because they like the game. If you didn't like it you wouldn't play it. As others have said you have 2 choices now. You either pay to play or you wait until 2.0. I just hope the game's rep isn't too damage to actually recover. For example, most people here hate blizzard and wow and there's nothing they can do to the game to get them to play it. I don't want that to happen with the people that leave.

It looks like this game might be worth paying for by patch 2.0, but for now, its still a pile of shit covered in a thin layer of win. After paying so much for the CE @ release and getting completely burned, not to mention the deteriorating quality of all FF games over the past decade, I think its pretty outrageous they would start charging for this half-finished game before 2.0. There's too many good games, both single player and MMO on the market and coming out soon to bother paying for this until its actually a finished product. I do believe this game could be great, but I will come back and pay only if/when it meets my standards and has some respectable reviews.

Atm all I see is SE is going to make alot of people quit who are not really playing the game anyways, the people we see ingame everyday I doubt we will even see much of an impact, maby a 5-10% drop at max.

I'll have to aggree with this statement but I think the percentage will be higher maybe around 30%, and that's only because the first 40%-60% dropped out the first 3 months after release ^^;
