It has been estimated on a serious note that we won't see the next Playstation til 2015 atleast. Just saying.
Can care less about the UI i can change that can care less if they display mob level, hate control i can change all that. just little worry that the feel of the art work in ffxiv would change to more rift, tera, aion, wow type and lose what i love about the game the rich of how the game look even tho ya it copy/paste you can't not say the game overall look awesome. Not WoW you moron. He is adding many streamlined features but it will save this game. There is always people like you who I knew would be on the forums who would complain to complain. Just to be the complete opposite of everyone else and enjoy it and say something stupid like " WAAAAH they are making it like WoW." Please go drink a cup of bleach

You know, that's exactly the thing I love the most from the Final Fantasy series: even if each game has a diferent universe, every one of them have the same common element: we have the normal storyline, then -bham- a major event occurs and all the world is shattered and destroyed!!! After that, we have a second storyline with even richer elements to play and enjoy.Something I found interesting is that the 7th Umbral Era story will not be replayable. To me this sounds like it means that the current story will only be available until 2.0 hits and then it'll be gone.
My thinking is that whatever transpires by the end of the 7th Umbral Era story leads to the dramatic area destruction that we've seen in the concept art. It's likely being used to explain why the entire game will look different after 2.0. It's kind of interesting that those playing up until that point get the "Prologue" as it were.
Somehow, more and more I am being sold into stay a pay for this game.![]()
If I'm reading the "client-side customizations (PC only)" correctly, they mean UI mods, which would give us an option to clean up the UII am not a big fan of the UI, it reminds me too much of WOW, can we please have different versions of the UI look. It seems overwhelming and too much going on for my taste. I like how clean the UI is now. I would like to see a wider variety of icons for status effects instead of the same for defense effects and so forth, that would be a plus.
edit: I wonder if the catastrophe will have something to do with Atherytes, especially after seeing the blackened out notes on some of the concept art and that "unusable Atheryte" CG which looks like those "things" piercing the earth on other concept art. Maybe the Garleans will overload the atheryte veins and they blow Eorzea to pieces, and since there are big Atherytes in all major cities....

As long as I can solo,I don't care...
Or there'll be disaster much worse and terrible than we can imagine. But i think it'll be connected to the aether too.I wonder if the catastrophe will have something to do with Atherytes, especially after seeing the blackened out notes on some of the concept art and that "unusable Atheryte" CG which looks like those "things" piercing the earth on other concept art. Good update schedule!
I hope I can play THAT GAME before I'm old or get marry.
This is incredibly awesome news! Thank you Yoshi-P, and thank you Square Enix! Don't let the nay-sayers get you down, you are doing a wonderful job and FFXIV 2.0 looks like it really might stand a chance at being the best MMO on the market.
I'm on board ^_^

the catastrophe in the 7th Umbral Era will likely involve the moon Dalamud. I mean they've put a lot of lore into the moon coming down and killing us all, even going so far as to implicate the Garleans.
-When side-quests were first introduced there was an NPC that commented on the fact that Dalamud seemed to be growing larger and of course turning red.
-In the early GC cutscenes Cid is seen muttering about Meteor.
-The bombard event featured large bombs which descended from the heavens upon small meteors. Pieces of these bombards were made into earrings in the shape of the twin moons in the following event which were stolen by Moon Mice.
-I can't remember the specific quote but after completing the low rank Ifrit quest the elezen in the robe suggests that the Garleans may be behind Dalamuds impending descent to Eorzea.
-The 7th Umbral Era storyline will likely become unavailable post 2.0 release. Which means the catastrophe involved in this era will come to a head and likely alter the entire world as we know it.
and that the more the reason to stay!Well...
