Yea, such an awesome experience!
On PS3 release you'll get to say: "Hey, i used to play the game when it sucked really hard and i payed for that! HA HA!"
They'll be so jealous.
I'm looking forward to it!

Please shut the hell up.I was very excited about the changes...until i saw the roadmap. 2013 is a long ways off. Unless they release the PS3 version with a demo on Versus 13(which could possibly release in 2012) i really dont see any PS3 user buying FF14. Not to forget the fact that the Star Wars MMO and Guild Wars 2(And Dragonball Online :P) are all going to be released before then who really is going to be left playing?
As most of us certainly do, there are questions that do need to be asked. I have a few myself.
Will I have to upgrade to fully experience FFXIV 2.0?
Will the current Eorzea story still be present in 2.0?
If so, will it merely be an archive of events past, and our characters thrown into the future?
I've invested my character into this game as any character in any Final Fantasy game. I have started small and discovered the world around me, and its lore. I hope this has been taken into account for Eorzeas future.
I'll be gladly paying my dues to make sure 2.0 becomes all that it should be. I believe a subscription model to be superior to micro-transaction, it creates a superior experience for the consumer. I'd have started paying for this game at release, because well... I have never stopped playing, in hopes that this game would be all that I had hoped for in a new MMORG Final Fantasy. I'm proud to get to play content that no one else will get to play. It makes us unique.
I like what I saw and read and I dont understand the wow references because in my opinion lol ffxi looked better than wow so how in the heck does 2.0 look like wow? Heck ffxiv looks loads better than wow and that concept battle alone made the current ffxiv look like crap so heck yeah I am excited. Take my money now SE!!!!!!
I like that and we also get to revamp our current look to so I might add some scars to my miq's face so she can have that "It was horrible...but I survived look". I can't wait to experience these changes. Its like you said we will be a part of Eorzean Lore and new players would love the game but not have the appreciation that we would. The fact that the game will be completely changed in a year, and that we have the chance to play the build up to the apocalyptic end of the current eorzea, gets me crapping myself with happiness.
Just thinking that the content and story line going on now will only be played by us, and never again, is pretty cool.
Worth paying for I think. If the game turns out to be superb in 2012, we'll be envied as the ones who played before the great flood. Or meteor. Or whatever.
We'll be part of the lore. Elders.
Impressive. The FFXIV I waited for is finally comes. Can't wait. It will be the best MMORPG ever for sure.
Everything looks sooo promising! I'm glad i stuck with it
The voice-acting better be available on all those languages for any region!
No disrespect to the English and other voices, but they're just out of place for me. It needs to be Japanese or it's just... wrong...to me. S:
It all seems flashy and promising, sure, but I'm not excited. I will just sit back and see what becomes of it, as usual. This all did not surprise me at all, actually. Was just waiting to happen. :V
Good luck to us all, is all I can say. \ö/

Testing something...
More naming options:http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/7006-Make-surnames-optional.
i wish we can have or change the voice to japanese but still in english :P
(Please use auto-translation function.) I assume you can speak Japanese or Read it fine then because otherwise... it would not make much sense to be have french UI with JP voices >.>; I find a lot of JP voice acting to be just as horrid if not worse. Plus it save me from having to read what is said if I just hear it.
