At 3:30am CST, I was ready to go to sleep. I made the mistake of loading Lodestone for a new recipe and saw the Letter from the Producer XX plus the new teaser stuff. I didn't go to sleep until 5am. All I can say is that these changes are mind blowing and 2.0 doesn't even look like the same game!

I'm all for these changes, regardless of concepts borrowed from other games. If a UI change makes the game easier to navigate and play, I'm all for that. Can't wait!

Also, SE had me at Malevolent Moogle! <3 Moogle swords and other weapons! Squeeee!!! Who cares about Ifrit's weapons? I want me a Moogle Sword! XD

I'm extremely impressed about this no questions asked..Except one point and only one.
Why should I pay for more or less testing the new system stage by stage instead of waiting a year and coming back and get all the "WOOW" feeling the game will offer and go step by step from scratch and see everything then spoil it and sit with a lvl50 char.

Having great fun atm ingame tho it just feels as its a all new game coming soon and why spoil it with spoilers all the way.

Because up until 2.0 launch, there will be a storyline occurring throughout Eorzea that will not be replayable. Those currently playing will be able to play through the storyline leading up to the what I would assume to be the coming of the seventh umbral era. Chances are we'll find some way to divert it, and the world will only be heavily mutilated in the process instead of completely destroyed. They said that come 2.0, FFXIV will shift to a new storyline.

With the current storyline, the last big battle being with one (or maybe both) or the Garlean Legatus says enough. I think I have what's going to happen figured out, personally. At least somewhat.

But, to sum up, essentially, we will get to play through the events that will bring about the new Eorzea. We'll have experienced something none of the new players will ever have a chance to - and we'll be developing our characters all along. If you want to come back to a new game, that's great. A lot of players will remain behind to play through the changes, though.
