The UI looks like FFXII + FFXIII and a bit of XIV. Wash off the disappointment. Even then its just concept art. All the proposed ideas actually sound great.
And the battle itself looks like the CG opening to Final Fantasy IV DS/PSP.

Too much info to read, need to continue when I wake up lol
The pictures are amazing though!

I only saw that the storyline will be changed to something new after the Seventh Umbral Era storyline. I haven't seen anything about current content being gone. o.oAll the current content will be gone in 2.0. None of what we are playing now will be replayable. It says so in the pdf files several times.
My idea is that the moon will hit Eorzea and change it forever with 2.0. It seems like right now we are just playing a prequel, story wise.
Certainly, making the Ifrit battle unplayable will be stupid. It's really only the story that will get removed.
Just gonna say it here too, called this when I mentioned "The only way this game will ever be a success is through a total engine redesign, game rebuild and complete re-release".
You are WELCOME everyone >_>![]()
I am really excited. The concept art is gorgeous.![]()

One word: SUMMONING!
Woot we'll be able to summon the primals we defeat in free companies!? A roaming Odin that gets stronger as the day passes!? Wowie what a crazy rush of information and quite frankly breathtakingly beautiful concept arts and screen shots!
Anyone else notice in the picture of the two headed dragon there is a chocobo there in the battle without a rider? Wonder whats that about...
Also the bard concept is different...no bow...they changing that? good imo.
Looks like they are truly getting rid of the "in a cave in the forest" feel in Black Shroud, thank god as well.
If you haven't noticed I'm pretty /psyched and cant wait!
it is a TRANSFORMABLE bow....One word: SUMMONING!

Aion Zwei - Masamune
So "Meteor" is gonna hit Eorzea and ACTUALLY completely change the course of the ENTIRE GAME. This so reminds me of FFVI World of Balance and World of Ruin lol
They might as well call it FFXIV: Cataclysm at this point. Personally, I think their hand was forced and other than the money aspect of it, there is way too much PR nowadays about new MMOs coming out and all their fancy updates. FFXIV has a really bad stigma attached to it currently so they had to do something to get the PR train rolling.
Other than this thread, the forums are so negative it's embarrassing.
@Vaer I do agree with you about the PR. With all these other MMOs coming out, Square Enix had to do something this drastic to stay in the playing field. I mean this is alot to take in so hopefully some peeps will have 2nd opinions on it before critisizing off the bat. I, myself, am too stunned to give my take on it :O
