This is the single most important piece of information that was just given to us about V2.0:
Character data and progress for players already playing the PC version will also be preserved, allowing those players to continue using their in-game avatars.

Still waiting for a moogle slave to look after my house.
The moment i saw the image with the battle going, i instantly saw wow, just prettier graphics lol
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine they would revamp this game on a new engine WOW.
Looking forward to 2013, happy to pay my subscription fees.
Have I missed an entry for making party forming easier?
Really looking forwards to the changes, as far off as they are.
All the current content will be gone in 2.0. None of what we are playing now will be replayable. It says so in the pdf files several times.I guess one of my biggest worries(which isn't that big at all) would be what are they going to be doing with all the content relying on current zones(dungeons, hamlet defense, etc.)? I would imagine that they're not taking a wrecking ball to ALL of the zones, as that would probably have an adverse effect on said content.
Things I'm most excited about personally are the Floating Colosseum by Limsa(people will FINALLY flock out of Ul'dah!), the Frontline battles and Free Companies and FINALLY Sahagin and Leviathan making their appearances! I crave more info. Hard to believe they were sneaking this thing around the office.
It's a brave new world.
My idea is that the moon will hit Eorzea and change it forever with 2.0. It seems like right now we are just playing a prequel, story wise.
David Ryder, the man of many names. He crosses from realm to realm to unleash a new name upon the world at every turn! Today, it's Bob Johnson.
heck, dont care if its wow like ff xi like, as long as it is pretty, fun and exciting to play, I will play this clone!!!!
Aion Zwei - Masamune
I find the WoW comparisons to be remarkable. They're in the same genre, yeah, but WoW wasn't even particularly good looking at its release. I, for one, have never found characters composed of wooden blocks to be appealing.
