You guys are forgetting its gonna take a year. FF games take up to 5 years to complete. Its all consept art. I bet only hafe of it gonna be put in the game.

Alot of stuff pre-FFXI still hasnt been in the the game.

With all adjustments and such I dont think they will handle it. We get alot of stuff late also.

I love just about everything about this, except two things concern me

"Party/content matching for players from different World servers"

I really hope this doesn't become the only thing 75% of the people in the game do, people standing in their estates or at the repair NPC and just using Dungeon Finder all day, its so antisocial with your server/world, and while its great to be able to find people for dungeons quickly and easily I'm not sure if it outweighs those negatives.

"Jobs to progress by clearing quests rather than gaining EXP."

I think I might need more info on this but I thought the jobs would be similar to advanced jobs from 11? That you unlock them and start at level 1 and exp them to level cap, more details would have to be released but it almost sounds like that jobs are some kind of addon skills for classes currently in place.

They are just add-on / removal of your current class. Turning into a Paladin would lock out non-gladiator skills/traits(and possibly some gladiator skills) and add paladin only skills,stats,and armor access.

The zone pages have still shots of in game renderings, so it's not all concept art. Secondly, they have been working on this for the last several months. They aren't just starting on it. The server program is already finished and running in house, with delivery, search and such installed. Honestly, with the server system going and the game program itself already developed, the only thing they really have to work on is content items and QA.

Wow. Talk about a shot out of left field and pretty pleasant surprise. This gives me some hope that when 2.0 comes out the game will be able to get off on a better footing. I think the game right now is still suffering from the poor reviews it got initially. Hopefully 2.0 will require a rereview by the journalism community and will achieve better scores to draw people in.

Seriously can't help but wonder how much faster this all could have been accomplished if they had just shut down after the poor launch and put ALL their effort into 2.0. Seems like a waste of a lot of resources over this past year. It all looks great but 2013 is a long way away and I don't forsee EVERYone sticking around to pay for what they will be offerering up until then. I am as excited as someone can be about these changes given that we won't being seeing them for some time. Ps3 in 2013 sucks ass btw, I don't care what anyone says. To me, thats the biggest dissapointment. Time to go play a years worth of other games while we wait even longer for this game to get its act together. See you all in a year and a half.

I have mixed emotions right now. It's all very exciting but it's so far away. I won't get to play this game on PS3 until 2013, for all we know PS4 could be out by then!

It has been estimated on a serious note that we won't see the next Playstation til 2015 atleast. Just saying.

Next time you log into xiv take a few minutes and watch the opening credits. Looks amazing doesn't it? Now remember that was for the original released version of the game.
Pretty pictures seduced us before, I won't be getting excited till I play it.
