Nonsense. If it's a concern about a feature they're planning to implement, they'll listen.
Other people would want something like this though. I absolutely despise the idea, disagree with it, and it negatively affects my game experience. Ultimately, it makes the game less desirable for me, which is disappointing because I was enjoying the game and the improvements it was getting.

You mean like this game for the past year?
Actually, no. There are some people, but I've met so many people playing this game, and a lot of people know me. Some positive, some negative, but that's how it is. I can talk to random people and get great success from it.

I'm sorry but you're either blind as a bat or insane, WoW looks like a messy piece of crap and FFXIV actually looks amazing.
Graphics, yes, FFXIV is amazing. That will not change. The game's UI, however...

I eventually did in WoW, but it's still a massive time dump of a feature. There were actually some rewards, but they were given for doing STUPID things. I don't mind the ones that challenge you to do a boss fight in "hard mode" basically. What bothers me are the ones that demand you to do something stupid and annoying while doing the boss fight normally just to get some silly brownie point achievement. You should get an achievement for doing something heroic, difficult... not "grab 5 floating golden orbs in this dungeon, because why not."
Well, like yoshi said, he's trying to create content for all types of players from the casuals to the completionists.

I'm just saying, maybe there's a way we can implement this feature without sucking away the heart of the community, which seems to be the prime concern associated with it. A compromise.

Chocobos fighting with people: EVERYONE HAS A PET. Not only is this somewhat annoying, but it completely ruins the uniqueness of pet classes.
I've read nothing that indicates that everyone will have their chocobo fighting with them except for the mockup screenshot showing ONE GUY'S Chocobo fighting with everyone else. It seems logical to assume that it's going to be some kind of ability that you're going to have to spend AP on in order to equip, like every other skill in the game, which means that to get your special bird buddy to kill shit with you, you're going to have to give up something else in return, like perhaps a defensive cooldown like our friend the tank probably did in that screenshot.

Also bear in mind is that the screenshot is a mockup, meant to convey the general concept of what things should look like. I'm sure that someone at SE will vomit crystals and chocobos on it before it makes it to live.

Dungeon finder: While it was good in WoW, it ultimately caused so much problem in the game. There is no community anymore, and no random interaction. To go anywhere or do anything, you just hit the dungeon finder. Random people show up, you don't care about each other, and you get the thing done. I'm all for a ton of help in getting parties formed, but hopefully it doesn't turn out like this.
Dungeon Finder was one of the best things to ever happen to WoW. It gave people the ability to do dungeons without having to stand around in whatever the hub town was for who knows how long asking in trade or general if anyone wanted to run a dungeon; you now had the ability to grab one or two of your buddies, declare your role in the group-to-be, then run off and do whatever until the queue popped. It didn't kill the community, because you could still chat and converse with those people in trade, general, and whatever other chat channels, and you could still ask them if they wanted to do an instance before you queued up. And guess what? That's what people did.

I'd like to remind you at this time that you DO have a server forum, which is likely where you're going to get an idea of what your server community is actually like, rather than whatever fantasy you've fabricated. You may or may not be satisfied with the knowledge.

Achievements can also turn out REALLY BADLY. The majority of WoW's achievements are not fun, interesting or anything. They're massive time dumps so you play more, and give you nothing of value. They're bringing that system here... will they do it right? Probably not, because they said there's over 300.
Achievements have always been stupid, but they've been optional stupid. I don't have to kill 10,000 squirrels in every area of the game if I don't want to, so I don't. In some games, they do have value, like in Mass Effect, where you get specific bonuses for your achievements; however, the acquisition of these achievements is so natural that you don't even have to try and aim for them, as they'll come for you if you just play the game normally. In WoW, you can get mounts, titles, vanity pets, and other crap that has no real bearing on gameplay, and thus can be completely ignored.

    Try harder next time.

Well the achievements can be used to reward people too. Its a good system works on Xbox and PS3, and in WoW.

Starting in Wrath and Cata in WoW Blizzard always put in a mount in each raid that you could earn by doing most all of the achievements in that raid. A lot of the achievements make the fight harder because you have to do stuff you normally wouldn't do.

Well, I was specifically referring to chocobos being battle partners. Dungeon finder can work, I don't mind that one too much, and yeah, basically what you said.

Achievements are super easy to implement, can be counted as a "feature" even though they take 30 seconds to design, and they make some people happy. For whatever reason. So it's not a surprise they're incoming.

I see some of your points, Crevox. I just don't understand the intensity of your reactions. Some of this stuff will work and some of it won't, but in general the direction of the game and dedication to evolving things seems positive to me.

I quote the systems and content pdf:

Future plans include chocobo gear, rearing, battle, mounted content, and shared chocobos, to be released
    sequentially after version 2.0.

    Battle chocobos. GG.

Dungeon finder was great, but it brought many issues to the game. Square Enix could resolve these and do it right, who knows... but their huge attachment to making this game like others could cloud it.

I simply dislike the idea of such silly grind achievements or stupid ones. It's disappointing, yes, but it's not something that ruins the game. It's disappointing because they're taking the effort to copy other games in this respect. How many features do we have to say "oh, you can just ignore that or the bad parts" for the game to be okay?

There is no way you can say it's completely trashed. They havnt even let out the more finer points of what they mean. They have offered an overview of the year to come.

To say this game is completely ruined is rather rediculous.

Still, I hope something in this games future grabs your keen eye

My intensity mostly stems from the sudden reaction. I was enjoying the game and actually thought this game was picking up. The patches have been GREAT, and I've been playing and enjoying it. I would actually pay for this right now, and was looking forward to the future.

    With this, not so much.

None of this stuff is set in stone. If people create well informed organized threads against certain aspects they will most likely changes aspects of them. All of that crap said "underdevelopment" just sayin. Interface looks like SWTOR's version of the wow ui since TOR is just a wow clone with a bioware decision tree.

The reason their adding acheivements? To be on ps3 you have to have achievements, plain and simple. So they needed to probably add more that could be converted to the ps3 version.

cross server dungeons and stuff, no thanks. No server responsibility, what stops they from jacking my crap
