Gunblade class, Imperials only?

What would a gunblade class even do? Squall and Seifer were just typical soldier archetypes with a cool weapon.

I was thinking along the lines of dissidia for abilities and attacks. Squall, Cloud, and Seifer are just refferences. Ultimately they would have to bring some new ideas to the table for implementation. Doesn't change the fact that it could be a neat class though, was never implemented in ffxi either so it would be something different.
