I still don't understand why SE hasn't put a gunblade class in ffxi or ffxiv. Somehow though, the imperials get one and even get Seifer's battle pose from ff8. So jelly, not even funny. Want so bad.

Well, our enemies needs to have something we don't else it would be boring!
That aside, maybe they'll bring Samurai with Sephiroth's Katana, Corsair (with gunblades), Red made with Rapier, Seer with crystal balls (would love to see their auto-attacks *adamantium crystal ball o.O )
So just like everything, it's a wait and see, Yoshi-P loves to keep some secrets up his sleeve..
*how about augmented jobs? (advanced) where the MCH will become Corsair, and then he'll use the gunblades?
As a MCH main, I'm for this. Possibly have job specializations that alter a few of your skills in some way, but you have to go back to an NPC of some sort and possibly pay a fine to switch the specialization. That being said, I also wouldn't mind if they simply just changed a few skill animations based on whether we were at range or close quarters, so that guns that have blades on them would use a slashing animation. It would give me more incentive to break out my Storm Lieutenant's Musketoon as a glamour.....
Augmented jobs would be kinda awesome, really. DRK/PLD + MCH = Gunblade class, WHM + BLM = RDM, BRD + NIN = Dancer and so on.
Friend/recruitment code for special items and things (use before paying first sub) RACN78W5 (updated) info on items here http://sqex.to/Cz9 code is entered via the mogstation.
SE should look into this..
i wouldn't mind gunblades either, but i honestly don't know how the class could stand out and differentiate itself from MCH and the like without borrowing too much (or anything at all) from existing classes![]()
This was actually an idea Yoshida considered implementing once, amongst other things like existing classes getting a second job:
We then asked Yoshida whether other classes will have access to multiple jobs, much as Arcanists can dabble in Summoner skills. He said that we'll probably see more of that in the future. There will likely be existing classes made able to branch off into other jobs, and he does consider it highly important to have variety and lots of flexibility in the game's class system. Also under consideration is the possibility of combining two jobs to form a third, such as White and Black Mages combining to form a Red Mage.

As the player char is exposed to new cultures and combat orders they gain access to new classes.
Probably a nightmare to implement lore wise.
