I still don't understand why SE hasn't put a gunblade class in ffxi or ffxiv. Somehow though, the imperials get one and even get Seifer's battle pose from ff8. So jelly, not even funny. Want so bad.

convenience insurance. They keep us yearning for the obvious to keep us playing.

Well, our enemies needs to have something we don't else it would be boring!
That aside, maybe they'll bring Samurai with Sephiroth's Katana, Corsair (with gunblades), Red made with Rapier, Seer with crystal balls (would love to see their auto-attacks *adamantium crystal ball o.O )
So just like everything, it's a wait and see, Yoshi-P loves to keep some secrets up his sleeve..
*how about augmented jobs? (advanced) where the MCH will become Corsair, and then he'll use the gunblades?
Augmented jobs would be kinda awesome, really. DRK/PLD + MCH = Gunblade class, WHM + BLM = RDM, BRD + NIN = Dancer and so on.
As the player char is exposed to new cultures and combat orders they gain access to new classes.
Probably a nightmare to implement lore wise.
We probably won't have access to Gunblade job until we can access Garlemald anyways which certainly will be a while since current hints in MSQ is that we get Ala Mhigo in 4.0 along with hinting the next two new Jobs planned may be Samurai and Red Mage during the anniversary event we had this year.
Not to mention the only way into Garlemald is through Ala Mhigo.

Yeah. It's not like we've killed enough Garleans to fill a necropolis, or completely sacked entire bases of theirs where we could have just had people steal them by the thousands in the chaos.
And of course, we don't have any escaped/former Garleans allied with us who would possibly know anything about how to use them, or knowledge of who might be willing to teach us.
Clearly a nightmare.
I see this probably being the case. Even if we have had access to other jobs, NIN, DRG, MNK, SCH before we actually got to go to their countries of origin, I think square would want a huge draw like Gunblades to pull people into the idea of a Garlemald expansion. (In all of their nonsensical glory). Iunno, the Warrior of Light picks up new martial practices like they're the weekly groceries, pretty easily.

I can see it now, the enemy of my enemy of my enemies, enemies, is my enemy! So lets team up imperials! Seriously though, I hope they really do implement a gunblade class finally at some point. The fact that they already exist in the game means there's hope.

What would a gunblade class even do? Squall and Seifer were just typical soldier archetypes with a cool weapon.
