What makes me happy in this game is doing stuff with friends. Almost all of the things I dislike are okay when it's with friends. This is my first (last?) FF game, so I just shake my head at the FF-nostalgia-euphoria that I see from others.
Y'shtola makes me happy (why isn't there more MSQ time with her instead of throwing in awkward scenes with Ser Lame-ric and roaming about with Alpha-not).
Merlwyb makes me happy in her wonderful, stern, disapproving way.
The art style has grown on me. I have learned to appreciate the effort made in the scenery and the character modeling/animating. I've even grown used to the alien-giraffe-elves. The cat-girls make me happy (although they need more polygons in the back).
Things that need friends around in order to make them palatable: crappy combat system, Lalafels, moogles and other "cutesy" beasts (ffs what is with that fat, bloated, disgusting, moogle mount?! My FC mate got one just to chase me around, knowing I would hate it), Gridania, roulettes, raids, housing.
Some things that don't impact my happiness because I either ignore them or avoid them: WM, hunts, seasonal events (with 99% useless rewards), soundtrack (turned off the music after about 2 chocobo rides during the first couple of days of playing), Gold Saucer, PotD, Crafting, Gathering, Savage content, weekly caps, subscription rewards (no recognition/nostalgia for me, so they aren't interesting), and alternate classes/jobs.
I don't feel like glamours are a big positive selling point, because they are pretty much a necessity (therefore, a negative). I don't think there was a single (male) bard outfit that I got during leveling that didn't require glamour. I'd say 95% of the outfits in this game could be deleted to save disk space. OR, even better, use that space for more character creation options. In this game, everyone looks like twin brothers and sisters within very focused age groups. I couldn't even make a unique, grumpy old man to suit my disposition.
