Red scripts sources : Adamantite unspoiled node only?

I'm a fresh 60 miner. I've managed to get enough gear to be able to mine 470+ adamantite to get red script.

Is there any additional ways to get them? Or am I doomed to just run there at 11 eorzea time for dozen of weeks?

It kinda clash a lot with regular activities too, like regular instances since you have to be there a specific time. You're in an instance for 30s too long? Well, you missed that timer. See you in 30 minutes. If you're not doing anything... like playing the game.

I guess I could level botanist too to have a second source...

There. you will see what can be turned in fo red scrip. There will always be Adamantite Ore, plus a random material (like Sun Mica) from a Legendary node that may be different each day, and, new for new 3.1, a material that delivers far less red scrip but is available at all times. Look in your gathering logs for the area that last mat is in.

Caimie's guide also has the times that the timed nodes spawn.

Get Botanist up. Get Fishing up too, while you're at it. All three gathering classes have means of getting Red Gathering Scrips.

At 12 RGS per, it takes 38 Collectibles, of some combination of Chysahl and Adamantite Ore, to cap each week. At a minimum of 2 per node, you are looking at 19 node visits. That number goes down if you are using a rotation that can get you more than 2 Collectibles per visit. At 4 node visits per game day (72 minutes) you are talking 6 hours total, for the week.

That time drops if you spend it fishing, or getting more than 2 Collectibles per node. The common 600 (or 650) GP rotation gets you 2 at 49% of the time, 4 at 9% of the time, and 3 the remaining 42% of the time. That is, you'll average 2.6 Collectibles per node with it. That'll lower your expected gathering time a little bit.

If you want to do it only via mining, and don't wish to delve into botany or fishing, then stop making it harder on yourself. All you would be doing is complaining about the results of your own actions (or inactions, in this case).

Adamantite and Chysal Greens now give you 15 red scrips each at base (470) collectability.
So now it takes 15 or less Unspoiled node visits (at 2 or more collectibles per node) to hit the weekly cap.

Legendary node mats (60*) are now giving 20 red scrip base, 24 if gold-starred.

Eventide Jade and Periwinkle (hidden L60 mats on regular nodes) give 5 red scrip.

So even with no gold stars, the timed nodes now deliver 100 or more red scrip per 70-minute Eorzean sun (i.e. day) for each of BOT and MIN. Together that's 200 red scrip per Eorzean sun, and if you mine the untimed nodes during the lulls between timed nodes (i.e. 11:30PM to 4AM, 5:30AM to 8PM, 11:30AM to 4PM, and 5:30PM to 8PM) you can probably collect (based on minimum time to regen 600 GP) 16+ of the 5-red-scrip mats as well (1 pop per three-node clear, 2 nodes per pop since the 5-scrip mats only require 450 collectability and you can therefore use a DE MA DE MA SM MA rotation but they are only 4-attempt nodes). That brings the total to 280 red scrip per Eorzean sun, allowing you to cap (if you are MIN and BTM) in around 2 hours with heavy use of cordials.

If you have only one of MIN or BOT, you won't do quite as well, only getting 190 red scrip per sun, capping in less than three hours.

Keep in mind they added a source of red scrips that isn't time-limited: Eventide Jade (for miners). You just go mining your normal lv60 nodes and it always pops on one of the 6 in the set.

Granted it's going to cost you 600gp for 10 red scrips or so from those but it's an option.

Don't bother with fishing for red scrips. Red scrip fish conflict with botany and mining times, and you're not guaranteed to get ANY, where with botanist and miner you're guaranteed two per pop, up to four. If you win the methodical appraisal lottery you can get 240 scrips in an hour with just btn and min.

You do NOT NEED CORDIAL to hit chyshal greens and adamantite if you're there for chyshal in advance. If you hit chyshal right when it pops at 9:00 and you aren't lagging, you'll have 600 gp at about 11:30.

Don't bother with fishing for red scrips.

Strongly disagree. Red Scrip fishing is amazing if the weather is fine. In the time where if RNG was godly to me, I would get 6 Greens + Ores. But with correct weather for Thunderbolt Eels, it's easy to get 5+ with just normal luck, and on really lucky days I've even gotten 7+ Red Scrip hands in. And not to mention it's very easy to get high amount of collectability with FSH, 50% of my Fish that I hand in are rank 2 (like 500 collectablility for Greens and Ores) and rank 3.

Yes you need Cordials though to be good at this, but they are quite cheap with GC Seals and now you can buy multiple at once. Also weather plays a big role in this, only Clear or Fair skies for Thunderbolt Eels or doing Greens and Ores are better.

If you are a L 60 miner 5 M gil isn't hard. If you have L 60 botanist too its easy.

I have perception 683. I would still be over 600 without the 3.5 M off hand tools. Just don't ask how much materia I blew up to get there. Pentamelded serpentskin / dragonskin left side, pentamelded 2.55 accessories, no melds on the tools.
