Leveling up makes me want to quit.

We have new members in our FC all the time, starting at L1 on everything, and they catch up to us without complaining. Dungeons and FATEs and hunting logs and quests boost them up pretty quick, and if you're having a problem with dungeon timers, avoid roulette and just select a few dungeons near your level and queue for them that way. I got into dungeons pretty quick yesterday as a L25 Rogue and leveled up about once per dungeon.

I do FATEs solo pretty often. How fast are you expecting to level? Once every how many minutes? I'm leveling Rogue. I'll let you know how long it takes me to get through a complete level for me once I get my next level up.

PS. You've repeatedly stated that you are going to leave and yet you are still posting. This is a common troll tactic, so I suggest you pick stance (I'm going to complain but I'm not leaving) or another (I'm going to leave - and actually leave). I don't say this because I want you to leave, but because you paint a very poor image for yourself that leads everyone to see you as a troll and this is probably the main reason people have reacted badly. I personally have no beef with you, take this as advice and do with it as you will. Just trying to help you get more helpful responses, as helpful responses come to those who aren't coming across as trolls (whether they are actually trolls or not).

EDIT: Can you please confirm which character it is that you are leveling? You have NIN 60 already. Sorry if someone has already asked, it's a lot of posts to read through!

With the post quoted in the post just before this one, it's making me want to grab my alt, and go from 1-50 without food or FC buffs. Can't do it on my main though... but I honestly am struggling to see an issue with the levelling system.

I think I'll try to go to do something like this on my alt, she has just 2 things to 60 most are like 0; I never had issues with leveling (hit on my main all 50 like a week before HW); and I don't need 2 hours to get into leveling roulette with dps... and if I do... I go grind gatherers (that's how i got them to 60 on my main)

Anyway I get first to 15 doing fates around Horizon and then I start with dungeons, guildhests and trying to do the challenge log

Full monitor screenshot for real world date/times. One dungeon (Halatali), two FATEs (both at Costa del Sol - the FFXI FATE and the buffalo FATE, both FATEs done solo). Leveled up. About 45 minutes total. Was going slow, too, and the first five minutes was me doing nothing at all but hanging around Ul'dah. No food. Buffs: Lower Level buff for having a higher level job, rested bonus, Heat of Battle II. Felt like no time at all had passed.

I leveled ACN to 30 about a week before 3.1, but by that time I had around 40 leves. I had been playing other games in the interim to build them up. I got WHM to 50 in about two very casual weeks of play, but I had the MSQ for that, which you've already done.

Are you also doing all of your guildhests and hunting logs? Guildhests give you bonus experience the first time you run them as a class.

Check around and see if you have any quests here or there to do. I deliberately leveled CNJ in Gridania, THM in Thanalan, and ACN in Limsa areas deliberately to cover each one.

Maybe you can do DoL gathering while you wait for queues, or get into crafting. Or both! Make a little money and maybe stave off some of the boredom.

Balmung may also be a problem for you as well, it's a Legacy server, so it probably started with a lot of people at 50 on multiple jobs when ARR released. You also don't have much circulation in players, with it being nearly 100% closed to new players and transfers. Do you have any attachment to Balmung? If not, maybe consider a server transfer.

I got my monk from 15-52 over two to three weeks playing casually(got 52 last week) and just doing dungeons longest queue was maybe around 35-40 minutes. I think you are over exaggerating either that or your data centre is dead and maybe look into a move.

And I have 60 PLD/BLM/SCH again all done via dungeons ok except BLM since I used the HW quests.

Two hour dungeon queues sound unbelievable, especially on a very populated datacenter. Are you playing during server prime time? Others already reminded of checking all languages for faster queues. Leves would be the last thing I'd do for leveling DoW/DoM too (other than maybe complete the challenge log for them).

Here's what I'd recommend for leveling:
- ask your FC to keep the exp buff up
- make sure to always gather rested exp when bossible (don't log out outside sanctuaries)
- always eat food (any food, just for the 3% exp bonus) while leveling
- do your daily low level roulette (this is my personal primary way of leveling since I'm lazy)
- I'm not sure how much exp you get from guildhests, you could try completing them in order as well (you get a bonus for completing them the first time on a job), there's also a daily guildhest roulette but I haven't done it
- make sure to get all of your challenge log bonuses for the job you're currently leveling (don't waste dungeon or commendation bonuses on your level 60 job for example)
- complete your class hunting logs
- from level 50, start running level 50 roulette and trials roulette in addition to the leveling roulette
- from level 53, start doing your daily solo clan hunts
- other than these, mainly run your current highest dungeon and during the wait times maybe solo FATEs or do any level appropriate quests you still have open in the world or do beast tribe quests (DoW/DoM beast tribe quests are mostly level 40+ I think)

I'm one of those people who leveled all my classes to 50 in the semi-drought leading up to HW.

I take Coerthas 30-40/42 (depending on if I'm in a good and fast group), then Northern Thanalan 40-50.

In my experience, mileage may vary etc., I would get one level per hour for those twenty levels. Allowing time for food, sleep, bathroom and life, that meant finishing a class or two every week. Some I found more boring than others, so naturally those took longer because I just couldn't be bothered.

Right now there is a situation I'm not sure the OP is considering. EVERYONE that has a max level character is gearing up for or already running VA and Diadem. That will be the case for the next couple of weeks. Then things will cool down again, alts will get picked up, and the fate trains start choo-chooing once more. Right now is a very bad time to try to do fates, at least if you insist on having a group for them.

I honestly disagree with you . leveing up DOW/DOM is different and each class has uniqe style .. will except for tanking classes were diffrences become less and less .. , to do so .. level all 12 jobs 1 level everyday for each .. in tow months you get them all to level 60 easy and fun as will . after all of this .. i suggest one tanking class and one healling class and one dps .. for me i would say WAR/SCH/BLM . the best EXP method is dengeons , from 15 to 30 around 1.5 run , from 30 t0 50 tow runs , above 50 around three runs .
