    SCH and SMN problems in Diadem

    Playing SCH in Diadem I was advised to increase my DPS to get the team better credit. Putting the difficulties of doing so aside (like during intensive esuna & healing a *) I noticed a major issue - DoTs (& their statuses) missed completely.

    Mobs can only have a max of 60 status effects at one time & most of SCH & SMN DPS comes from DoTs. In fact, we only have a few direct damage spells, some like Broil are MP rich to use continuously. As a result I felt like I was letting the team down because I just couldn't increase my DPS.

    There's also the issue of an accuracy cap in HM. I'm sure I saw my Energy Drain miss which makes me think that if Diadem does require SCH DPS then we're pretty much useless in the current "must go zero Dinos" scenario for anything other than heals. It's worse for SMN as their strength is DoT damage.

    Kept seeing Protect "drop off" which is annoying & I can't work out what's happening.

    That level 4 Dinosaur is really annoying for Arcanist class. All DoT is useless, only Broil and Ruin(maybe?) that gives damage.

    Even with Selene out using her party Leech I still find myself almost going up & down the party list casting Leech throughout the fight when I'm not casting heals. It's just too risky to drop into Cleric Stance (I feel) for the one broil you might get off before a knock back or another round of healing & leeching. Dino Island is almost constantly streaming debuffs but I do wonder if non-healers notice just how bad it is!

    I can relate as bard. I have trouble putting windbite and venom bite on these highly fought monsters. I figured that it's because there's so many people fighting them that it has reached the debuff capped.

    Mobs have a limit of 30 as far as i can tell not 60. To dps effectively SCH need 4 dot slots. p.p I whine so much about this in Diadem and 24 man raids.

    The display is limited to 30 slots but they increased the actual amount to 60 with 30 being hidden. The best way to show you're missing is that it clearly states "no effect" when you apply a DoT.

    SCH also use more than 4 DoT slots because even Ruin2 applies a debuff. Off the top of my head the following (can) put a status on a mob:

    Bio - DoT
    Bio - DoT
    Miasma - DoT & Debuff + heavy
    Miasma2 - DoT & Debuff + heavy
    Ruin2 - bind
    Aero & Blizzard2 (depending on cross class)
    Shadow Flare - DoT + slow
    Virus
    Eye4Eye

    All together there's a potential 12 icons on the mob just from SCH (I don't think the Miasma debuff & heavy stacks or it'd be 14!). That's a lot of our goodness that can go completely unused in a busy fight. =(

    There is no way that 30 are hidden o.o why wouldn't your buffs go to the top of the list. I Still feel like it's 30 but I'll watch more closely I guess? Unless there is a way that it's been proven. O.O

    Also SCH only have 4 dps gain debuffs I should say. Ruin II would be nice too sometimes. I don't think slow works on the mobs though for shadowflare and its just there for the dps gain. Shadowflares dot isn't a debuff. It ticks with the server and just deals damage.

    Edit: wow that bandaid patchwork they did. Found what you were talking about after googling debuff limit 30/60. Should prioritize your debuffs even invisible on the debuff bar.

    To be honest, 5 DPS should be enough to get credit on anything, and the healing requirements in Diadem can be pretty high considering you'll most likely be juggling a group of trash alongside an NM (or two). If it's still a problem, you may consider not recruiting alt dps with gear in the 180s lol. i179 is just not a realistic minimum ilvl.

    I wish that was the case but I believe I was the only one in the party who wasn't a top tier raider with Savage experience. Everyone was around i200 so pretty well geared. I heard from the NIN/MNK (forgot which) that he was able to smack seven colours out of a mob then mount & fly whilst it was still alive! Suggests a big problem with how the game is dealing with enmity & combat status in Diadem.
