Application hang with dual monitors. Non-steam version.

I can play the game fine with zero issues. But once I click over to my second monitor to look something up for the game, the game will hang and "Final Fantasy XIV has stopped responding" will pop up, and I'll have to close it. It happened for a few days, I updated my drivers and it went away for a day. Then today I started playing, and it's happened again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers, and it didn't help.

I'm running the game on a GTX 970, with 8 gigs of ram and an AMD 8350. In the event viewer it shows as a 1002 event. This is also the only game I've noticed it happening with.

Are you running it bordered, windowed or borderless windowed? I'm running with multiple monitors myself and haven't had any problems with either windowed or borderless windowed so just wondering if perhaps you're running it fullscreen and maybe try the other options?

    I've been running borderless windowed.

    Hi!

I had the same issue with my AMD card a while back and what stopped this for me when using borderless window, is if you're using Windows Aero make sure your taskbar is a SOLID colour with no transparency and it should stop the fps issues.

    Hope this helps! ^^

Yup! I usually just disable transparency so I can keep the colour, but I know switching to Windows Basic works too. ^^

Just tried it, and it crashed before it would even load my character in. Sigh.
