Harassment of DoL in Diadem via DF

Logically, everyone joins Diadem as a battle class, everyone has a battle role in the party.
Therefore it is reasonable to believe DF is expected to fight with the party by default.

I've been doing a reasonable amount of Diadem since patch, been to both hm and normal. I've always gone through my FC, PF or LS's for farming because of the dps you need to get chests, makes sense.

Today I went into Diadem normal via DF with a friend to gather. I, my friend and 2 others mentioned we'd like to gather and it was a horrible experience from then on. We even stated we would pass on all loot (which we did).

We were cursed at, called trolls and even defamed in /shout. It's not easy to make a full Diadem party for gathering and the DF seemed like the most inclusive place. It seems that this is a common occurrence and I'd like to make it known that this behavior is ongoing.

If you go into the Diadem via DF you're opening yourself up to every method of play, don't be selfish and ruin other people's time because you don't like the way they're playing.

And if anyone in that DF party happens to read this, if you had had some human decency I would have joined to farm, I'm not going to fish for 90 minutes.

Its more than just a gatherer rolling on combat loot. One person in a DF group decide to go gathering means one less dps, and with the current reward contribution system every dps counts. In your case with 3 ppl off gathering, means you group had at most 4 dps. With less than half of other group's combat capability and the current zerg meta, you can be sure that your group's combat contribution will be low, and might even be too low for gold chest.

Quoting your post that "If you go into the Diadem via DF you're opening yourself up to every method of play, don't be selfish and ruin other people's time because you don't like the way they're playing.", what you and your buddies were doing was essentially ruining your party's play time. You might not care about what combat loot your group received because you are not rolling on it, but i would be really pissed if our group cant get gold chest off of NM due a few player "playing how they want".

Not for nothing, but I've gone in with a full PF gathering group, and we've still gotten harassed and flamed for gathering instead of farming. Apparently our existence was just too terrible for them to deal with.

The main thing is if using Non FC DF most would want to get loot and no one in FC is even really on. And just gathering isn't fair for those who can't gather there yet either!

I heard if you just want to gather just get a 2nd party member ) and use the FC? i've only heard you don't need full party to enter using FC NPC but I haven't tried it,

I enjoy gathering so I'm with you on that. You also realize that if they are farming on dino island they will not have enough dps to get credit for gold chests from rank 5s or stars?.

I've been in a group of 5 people, 2 heals 3 dps and we managed to get gold on star ranks and multiple silver coffers. It was a DF group except for me and a friend, so i don't think if one or two people are missing it should hurt their rank that much unless they just have bad dps :P

Well Yoshi said there is no intention to change things for gatherers, so OP I'm going to just say do what I do in DF diadem. Unlock flying, go in to your chat log and turn off say/yell/shout/party chat, switch to your DoL and do your thing. Then you can do whatever you want free of any harassment.

To all the people who are screaming "You cant enter the Diadem as gatherer therefore you're not supposed to gather!!": I would like to remind you that this is far from the truth. You cant enter as gatherer because that would have required them to change the whole queue system. I agree that someone - ANYONE, maybe it be a gatherer, someone who is afk or probadly only lost at the other end of the map - who didnt contributed to killing a mob shouldnt be able to loot. But forcing everyone to farm this in the most "effient" way...? Uurgh, thats just wrong. Would you start complaining aswell if three people would decided that they dont wanna go hunt dinosaurs and try to three-man lower ranks instead, just for fun?

Also, i have yet to hear a gatherer complain that those mobs close to our nodes dont get killed... I'm pretty sure the original concept of SE was to make people work together - hence the FC-thing - so if we have DoW/M complaining that they cant get enough credit once they've lost 2 people, why dont those 2 people not complaining that they're not getting any help with those fat birds guarding their next tree? I'll tell you why: Because they dont force their ways on you. You're calling them selfish, yet all you care about is that YOU are getting YOUR loot. Because you want your "BiS" everyone has to follow your lead? Sounds like you need... mmh... I dont know... a group of people sharing that same goal... like... a raid group... or a static... or just a PF...

Devils Advocate: The moment those two players ran off to gather in lieu of the party consensus/wishes they did just that: force their ways on to 6 other people.

These kinds of arguments go both ways, and the horse has beaten on this enough times that I don't know why it keeps coming up. The best answer is to be considerate of the other people around you when deciding major objectives of the group. Diadem at its core is a group activity, so no, you shouldn't run off to do whatever you want because "lulz i duz wat i wantz dun force ur self on meh!". If the majority wish to grind for gear and a majority consensus has been reached then that is what should be done. If the majority wish to gather and a majority consensus has been reached then that is what should be done.

And if all your looking to do is gather there are ways to do that that don't require use of the DF as suggested in this thread already.

Civility and respecting the wishes of the group should take precedence over individual wants and needs in a team based activity-anything else is inherently selfish regardless of how anyone tries to spin it. Of course asking for any of this is far too much for the NA/EU community.
