I worked my butt off to get to i179. I went to Diadem and had the fortune of acquiring 6 upgrades.

Three were Mistbreak and the other three were Deepmist. Every piece had 5 or 6 decent stats on it. I figured I would never need the Law/Eso gear again. I bartered it for GC seals.

I was happy with my still improving i189 BLM until that fateful day my BLM got burned by the evil Spoils Trader in Foundation. Ironic how I got burned so bad in such a cold place. It was late. I had run all my instances, got my WHM to 60 and just finished another Diadem run. It was time for bed.

I went to clean up after my run and barter my greeds away. Unfortunately, I was not on my BLM class when trading. It took all my gear and SE denied me the right to the one time character restore citing it was not an accident.

YES IT WAS AN ACCIDENT.

Rest in peace dear Black Mage, slaughtered on November 19th, 2015, by the evil Spoils Trader in collusion with fatigue and a poor UI design.

Don't worry about it. The relic quest line comes out in a few weeks. Just save up your eso's and run the alexander normal1 - 4 and the new dungeons for BLM gear on a different class. You will be back to i189 easily by the time the 3.0 relic weapons come out. I got my Ninja to 60 the other day and hit i190 today. My lowest piece is a ring which is i180 everything else is i185 to i200 (weapon is i200 and the chest is from Void Ark).

Trust me when I say its super easy to get your iLevel up now (I would know I have 8 classes at 60). Alexander normal is no longer loot locked + you can run the new dungeons for i185 gear. So get back in the game and grind your butt off and before you know it you will look back at this as LOL moment. I don't know how many times I accidentally deleted or sold a piece of gear across several mmo's. It happens but all you can do is shake your head and curse at the moon. Once you cool off just get back in there and grind a way... is it a set back sure but in a few weeks it wont even matter because you would have already got your gear back and started on something new.

If it makes you feel any better 2 210 maiming pieces dropped the other night and I greeded instead of needed and lost them both.

To make sure this does not happen again do the following:
1. Make sure you save your new gear sets when you change them.
2. Check the option that does not let you hand in items that are in a gear set.

That sucks...I did that will my Ninja gear a while back and handed it in for GC Seals...I had to go get like three pieces again...we live and learn.

Ouch ouch ouch. You do have to be really careful due to this terrible design. I watch all my 210 items SUPER careful for the most part I don't even spoil them I just stop at 210

Does suck, but that's not the issue the OP is having.

When they had finished their Diadem run, OP went to turn in all his non-needed gear loot for spoils. Since the spoil trader has no such option to tell what gear you have equipped and what gear you have saved to your set when turning things in, it's possible to actually turn in a ilvl 210 piece you just got that night that you wanted to keep (or have saved) by mistake if you change jobs. Which is....unfortunate.

I am a packrat, so I save most of my gear, even if it's outdated. I wouldn't turn in any of my Eso stuff for seals... Law gear? That I would, since law pretty much flows like water.

They really do need to have those spoil collectors separating gear so that this doesn't happen. This should have been there from the very start to be honest. I have been close to accidentally doing that myself with pieces I have wanted to keep for other jobs...

Best advice I can give is be sure to place any and all pieces you get into your retainers that you want to keep, even if it's equipped. Then turn in all other spoils. Understandable how it happened too....when your sleepy, anything goes. xD

Well funny enough I complained that I lost 210 maiming chest and helm..today I get decent 210 maiming chest, gloves, and legs lol RNG...whyy?

Just pick up some fillers for the pieces you're missing and get back into Law gear. It shouldn't take too long.

With that said, the Spoils collector does need to have an option to keep you from trading in gearset items.
