    Ideas: PVP Rewards

I would like to see some more rewards from PVP. Mounts, titles, minions etc.
For example. make a an Armored Fenrir mount obtainable through PVP
things to give us PVPrs more of a variety, more of a motivation to keep pvping.

Feel free to comment your own list of ideas of rewards <:
i'll update when i think of some <: just a start!

With how heavy dragons are in the story, and with all the flying we do in Diadem, why not some GC based dragon mounts for PVP rewards?

People have been asking for this for a very long time. The whole Wolf Mark System is due for an overhaul. More mounts, minions, barding for your chocobo, housing items, new gear sets (especially one that is equip-able between ranks 35-50 which has been conspicuously missing), and vanity items... the list goes on.

Personally, Barding and gear are at the top of my list, followed by new minions, but we've been waiting for a long time. Only items we've seen added are the Tp regen ones so far.

This! I think it would be perfect if they removed rank restrictions on gear and instead made different vendors for different ranks. You technically don't have to be rank 50 to equip the top gear, but you would need to be 50 to buy it. If they made this change then they could put in all of the extra things that PVP rewards so desperately needs, like minions and furnishings and mounts, and still have them be unique and rare, since only the top PVPers would be able to access the top level stuff.

Rewards are always good incentive. This is what pvpreborn answered for a poll we had awhile back. Barding is one I forgot to add that should be in there.

Yes, exactly. I really like the idea of having rank restricted vendors. It would incorporate a grind, make people more interested in getting those ranks, and open the door to much more rewarding uses of our Wolf Marks, which, in turn, would make us want to grind for more. I was personally thinking about applying rank restriction to specific purchases, but I think having it apply to vendors is a much better idea... but... I'm still a little hesitant to remove gear restrictions (from gear specifically) for one reason and one reason only: Morale bonuses.

Right now, worrying over Morale Bonuses seems totally useless, because Wolves Den is dead on most servers (unless you're match fixing with pre-mades); however, if the upcoming wolves den updates breathe some life back into it, taking out gear restrictions could seriously screw with the game mode. For example, if a person gets to rank 50 on one GC, buys some gear, then swaps to another GC, they would instantly be able to use rank the rank 50 gear while at rank 1 without the restrictions in place. This is a problem, because Wolves Den matches are rank sync'd. Removing rank restrictions to equipment would create an environment where Rank 50 players from one GC could swap and enter Rank 1 matches with another and totally faceroll their opponents. I like Morale Bonuses, and I believe players should get to use the rewards they earned, but not at the expense of totally destroying fresh players by exploiting the system.

Also... to be perfectly honest, I'm still holding a candle that SE will smarten up and remove the morale restrictions from Frontlines. They should not be there in the first place. It's a competitive game mode. There is no reason that rank 50 players should be denied the advantage they worked their butts off for, or, worse yet, be outscored by PvE gear from players who are at rank 1 but happen to have a raid group and spammed the living heck out of Savage Alexander.

I disagree completely, player skill should always be the deciding factor not gear. That's effectively giving a rank 1 a knife, and a rank 50 a gun.

Just because you have suffered the queues or had more games, doesn't mean you should have an stat wise advantage. You should however as a rank 50 have a more deeper understanding of targets to hit and when you need to gtfo, along with a more tactical awareness.

Nonsense. Even with Morale stat bonus, the difference in gear between PvP gear and PvE gear (which you can easily get without any skill whatsoever just by paying for it with poetics) is minuscule at best. So the analogy of giving rank 1 a knife and rank 50 a gun is way off the mark. Both players have a sword. The PvP player just has a slightly sharper sword.

Secondly, as it is now, players who simply bought their gear using Esoteric (which they can now update freely using weekly runs of Void Ark) have a slightly better edge than those who did the grind for PvP bear. Considering that grinding to 50 requires a HUGE amount of matches, even total moron would accumulate the experience, tactical awareness, and pvp skill you're talking about. Yet, the PvP player is given a duller sword than the guys who just run daily rolls to get Eso... How does that make sense?

You could call it a crutch for the PvE players, I suppose, but that's not accurate either. There is nothing stopping the experienced PvP players from equipping that gear either. In fact, it is FAR MORE LIKELY that a PvP player is going to work out the numbers and deduce which gear set combinations are better for their PvP loadout than a PvE players, so they're already being given the "gun," as you say, and there's really nothing wrong with that. Part of being skilled at pvp is knowing what gear to use and what gear to avoid. A player taking advantage of the right stats in a PvP environment is using skill to gain the edge.

Besides, now that Void ark is giving out free upgrades to ilvl 210, taking the morale restrictions out of PvP is not giving rank 50 players an advantage. It would be leveling the playing field with the no skill PvE gear.

Disagreed. It takes 10 seconds or less to google what the best PvP gear is for your class, thanks to ambitious theorycrafters.
