Unconfirmed AFAIK, but it is known that crafted DoW/M gear as low as i160 can convert into Tier Vs. Therefore, I'm inductively assuming that the DoH/L gear works the same way.

No, Tier V DoH/DoL materia is NOT YET available via spiritbonding. You can get the gear to 100% but you cannot convert it to anything higher than IV, as per the patch notes from 3.0 onward.

All I'm seeing in the 3.0 and 3.1 patch notes regarding materia are:

[3.0] Players can now convert gear into grade five materia.
* Grade five materia for crafting and gathering classes will not be available at the release of patch 3.0. They are scheduled to be added at a later date. However, it will be possible to receive grade five crafting or gathering materia via materia transmutation by speaking with Mutamix.

i170 crafting gear was released in 3.05, which is not 3.0. This is kind of vague, IMO.

[3.1] Gear will gain spiritbonding at an increased rate in The Diadem in comparison to other duties.
* The increased spiritbond gain does not apply to crafting or gathering.

Again, ambiguous. Are they saying that the gain doesn't apply to the actions of crafting or gathering within the Diadem, or that the gain doesn't apply to DoW/L gear?

Exactly, the patch notes say it will be introduced at a later stage. Don't you think something as majorly important as a new tier of materia being introduced would be skipped over in the patch notes?

Until the notes say otherwise, tier v gathering & crafting materia is only available via transmutation, as originally stated.

Currently there is no confirmation for spiritbonding tier V materia for DoL and DoH
The only way is with mutamix

Right now it might easier to have them
Thanks to diadem materia exchange and fast spiritbond for i185 stuff (took me 1 run to reach 100% on HQ pièce, rank 4 and 5 gave me like... 2% each)
=> Unfortunately got only tier IV materia

With a new layer of crafted gear/accessories
Possibly a new set of crafting and gathering gear
That need tier V materia to be perfect meld

To be fair, if they DID put tier 5 crafting/gathering materia in the diadem spoils store, there would be an army of crafters/gatherers doing nothing but gathering in the diadem and pissing off the people who go in there to kill stuff even more. That might be why it's not available for trading with spoils.

well, basically theres 0 need for grade V gatherer and crafter materia yet because you can easily craft and gather EVERYTHING without bothering about your gear or stats
if you pentameld the normal ilvl 150 stuff with grade III and IV materia you can comfortable gather everything ingame and craft all 2 star recipes in HQ

they will probably introduce them later when they might become usefull or relevant
