    The drama of two persons drawing weapons is probably great, except I am a summoner. It looks really silly when someone is charging me with a giant, bloody axe and I open up a book to page 24 and glare. As if I'm projecting, "If you take one more step forward I'll reveal who kills Dumbledore!" and the foe hesitates until the Scions swoop in an neutralize the situation with spoiler tags.

    I don't know, smacking him with magical dysentery,siccing a rabid carbuncle or mini titan to his face, or a painflare to his everything would've been my first idea, and im not even versed in summoner business.

    Barring that, I feel the ingenuity of using a improbable parrying weapon that is the magic book is being highly understated here.
