It's a lot of work choreographing a fight scene in a game with 13 different jobs that all have unique animations.

Work that they don't feel like doing.

I did it on my Astrologian, and just think about how strange it would have been if i tried to smash him in the face with my star globe.

It's a lot of work choreographing a fight scene in a game with 13 different jobs that all have unique animations.

The thing is, they didn't even need to do any choreography, they could've simply had the WoL start to clash with the WoD, and then get interrupted by Thancred. Like this:

-The WoD swings back to smash the WoL.
-Using whatever weapon he/she has on hand, the WoL blocks the attack. Any weapon can be physically used to block the attack, would keep individual animations to a minimum.
-Sparks fly as the weapons clash, you'd get a real nice closeup of the two Warriors' faces, the WoL looking real pissed off and about to kick some ass.

-THEN Thancred's dagger cuts between them and interrupts them.

At least with this tiny method the WoL would have had some involvement. As it stands, they literally didn't even get to do anything in the cutscene.
