    And that would require more time to animate and choreograph for an action scene that would last all of 10 seconds, leading to delayed patch updates, which also leads into people complaining that content is not coming out fast enough. I don't think most people really understand how time consuming animation can be, especially when there's a strict deadline looming overhead.

    You never hear anything bad about the fight before ifrit story mode, the one where you get hit with a sleep spell, and this is why: We participated in it. Our characters got to fight in the situation however hard we went, in so doing we saw the situation getting bad despite our efforts, and then the scene played the result of it at an appropriate point: sleep spell unawares.

    We don't look lazy or helpless(unless we played that way), we stay in the story without getting taken out of it by odd combat behavior, and the story can go on still in control of its outcome.


    I don't agree with the scripted to lose battles, especially when you've been established to be powerful for a good while. From a gameplay perspective, it feels like I'm wasting my time knowing I can't win, so it'd be fast for me to just throw the fight to get a move on.
