I never said you wanted an instance fight. But I believe that's the best way to feel engaged in battle without taking up too much resources.some people got me wrong, i didnt wanted a full instance fight at that time !
but wanted seeing my character doing something else than just "standing" while everybody else got they're ass kicked !!
(if we follow that logic, if in real life your friend got they're ass kick like this in front of you, are you gonna stand still ? NO !)
and please dont give me the "yeah too much class wep, bla bla" its just skin ...,
set 1 animation and your good to go ...
(and most animation already exist in the database )

There was a 14 page thread on this already. The game engine would take care of the various racial and armor appearance, but SE would need to make 13 different cut scenes. Do you want them to spend their time making your character block for a second, or would you rather they spend the time adding more content to the game?

Besides, how are you going to have the opponent react? A BRD bow attack is dealt with differently than a WAR axe cleave.
You'd have to choreograph the ENTIRE FIGHT to accommodate each class.
AND race. A sideways swing from Derplander would cut a male Elezen in half, but go straight over the head of any Lala.
The only epic cut scenes we'll get are the CG ones with our Derplander avatar
