Part of the WoL's canonical power is attracting the right people, too. Your nation's leader chose you to be an envoy because they sensed that spark. You getting involved with the Scions as early as level 17, when you're still a weakling, is destiny turning its wheels. The story builds it up such that the WoL makes the connections and has greatness thrust upon them in a way that nobody else can.

In 1.0, the Path of the Twelve was Minfilia's organization, where everyone had The Echo. Presumably, most of them were killed during the Calamity, or went into hiding, or were later killed by the Garleans when Waking Sands was attacked. But the echo, while uncommon, is not super incredibly rare.

The idea that out character is so strong that no one can even approach us in strength is so ridiculously stupid I'm having problems understanding where that mindset is coming from. Especially when we're shown that all of our companions, except Tataru and Minfilia, have a great deal of combat prowess. And even non companion characters such as Ilberd, Livia and Gaius are shown to be significantly powerful. Not to mention, we are most definitely not the first people to kill primals. The Scion's and various mercenary groups like the Company of Heroes were doing so well before we began our adventures in Eorzea.

Well, technically, we already did do something in a cutscene. Whether or not it was awesome is subjective -- I thought it was awesome -- but does anyone remember how it was us, and no one else, who obliterated Iggy (I keep forgetting that Ascian's name) from the fight with her and Lahabrea? She was about to warp away or reincarnate or whatever it was that the Ascians did, and it was us who threw that white aetheryte and did whatever came next (I can't remember all the details, sorry!).

I would settle for something like that in future cutscenes. It'd be easy to do on SE's part, and at the same time it'd make us look awesome. Why waste time attacking and parrying when we can use a cutscene exclusive ability that anyone, race, gender, and job, is capable of using?

I don't know, smacking him with magical dysentery,siccing a rabid carbuncle or mini titan to his face, or a painflare to his everything would've been my first idea, and im not even versed in summoner business.

Barring that, I feel the ingenuity of using a improbable parrying weapon that is the magic book is being highly understated here.

Thank you KyahAlmasy you said everything that shows me that we fight alone way shorter than I did.

About the point that primals were killed before us: Its true but they also told us that this killed a lot of people because they went in with a lot of numbers and the first soldiers would always be tempered and the next row would fight these tempered one while the last people would then try to kill the primal. So yes its possible to kill it without the echo but it was quite the loss. This is why we are so special.

I don't care if we have someone that is on our level of strength or even stronger than us but please let us be able to show why we are called the warrior of light and why so many people puts their hope into us. Standing there doing nothing and even needing protection is bad. If we would have been poisoned or injured I would have understand this but we are healthy and just because we had a echo vision we suddenly cant react fast?

And about us summoners Like I wrote in my last post. We already were able to defeat knights with very deathly weapons with only Alphinaud, another book user, on our side. So no I don't take this as a argument anymore after SE showed that we were able to do this.

Also, the previous incarnations of primals were noted to be far weaker than the version we face. Even the other companies, and merc groups explain to us that the version we fought was far stronger. lol
