why during cutscene its always like this ... (small spoiler)

so few days ago , i finished (i guess?) the very small campaign from the 3.1 patch,

arrived the moment when you meet the warior of darkness
(i hope its the name in english)

and suddenly he look at you, draw hes axe !!
my character draw hes GreatSword !!
in my seat i was like !

"HELL YEAH, MY CHARACTER GONNA FIGHT HIM IN A CS, AMAZING !!!!"
i was so excited !!!

and ... nothing ...
thancred showed up, and fight them instead ....

i dont know, but ... was i the only one who excpected this ?

I was pretty much expecting it since the whole point of going to the Forelands was to hunt down Thancred, and they'd practically broadcasted that he was hanging out with the Gnath.

Derplander and his crew were a surprise, but Thancred coming in to stop them wasn't a surprise at all at that point.

Nah I fully expected my lazy ass to sit on the floor like always. Was still sad though heh. I'd love to see my character kick some butt in a c/s. I guess it's awkward to do more than have us unsheath our weapons when we can be any class during them.

well i understand we were looking for thancreed, but they could have made it like, we alone starting fighting them (5 of them), and then thancred show up and save the day, we didnt literaly loose, but kind of, who lead us to take revenge or something like this

the story be the same, will seeing our character kicking some ass (holding 5 people alone :O)

and with the technology we have today, making kind of different class cut scene isnt much of a problem (many game already have this, why not here ?)

Because putting together a cutscene for every single one of our 12 battle classes would be pretty resource-intensive.

They all have completely different skills and fighting styles so it's not the kind of thing you can just kludge together.

Think of it this way: Our friends are willing to fight and die for us. They love us that much, and then some. The reason why we stand around and watch, I'm guessing, is because our friends wouldn't have it any other way.

^ this right here. Also not to mention adding them to all 6 races.

6 races not to mention male and female genders so 12 in total.

12 x12= 24 separate cut scenes they'd have to make. So pretty much they decided it's much better to not do that and instead put the time and effort that it take do make 24 different cs into other stuff. Which is a good call.

While it be cool if our character did do something like fight in the cs its better to not waste time with it.

Ps. Not to mention they'd have to go back and add more once new jobs are in and if they ever add a new race.
