Thread: Shield Performance Post 1.19

Hi guys!

I was interested in how others feel about how shield works since this last update. Its a rather fundamental change to Gladiator. But, it is also more of a minor change to both mage jobs.

Personally, I dont care for it. I like how shield performed before the patch. It really fealt like an asset in my arsenal. The way it works now, it reminds me of old school ffxi where they had, what, 4 completely different shield systems they tried... because they couldnt ever seem to get it right.

But, I am more interested in what others think about it. Perhaps I am just "doing it wrong".

Shields have been nerfed multiple times. i find that they don't block nearly as often as they should (especially considering full blocks are super rare and partial blocks dont seem to do much).

I still carry one on THM simply because I solo a lot and the defensive actions I gain (Plus shield bash which is really useful noticably ease soloing- though it used to be a fair bit better.
